Brian Kuale Colours Film Dishonest, Thief, Scam Artist, Rude, AVOID!!! Brooklyn, New York

My name is Brian Kuale and I am a freelance videographer that was hired to shoot video of a speaking engagement in September for SOLVE at NYU Langone Medical Center.

The person that has filed this report is a disgruntled individual who is upset that I took a stance against her unprofessional behvaior and eventually got paid for my time. her name is Brianna Ladapo

I was contacted off of a craigslist ad that I ran about my video services. This woman (Mrs. Briana Ladapo) said that she worked for NYU and wanted to hire me for a gig on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 to tape
a presentation for the Addiction Research Dissemination and Implementation Sustainability (ARDIS) Discussion Series that featured Joseph Conigliaro, MD, MPH.

The agreement was that I would come and film, then be compensated by a woman by the name of Maria Rosa (who I was lead to believe is Briana Ladapo's assistant). I showed up and filmed, met everyone, including Joseph Ladapo who is Brianna's husband... Everybody seemed pleasant. When it came time for me to get paid and I asked Maria about the money she said that she knew nothing about paying me. When I contacted Brianna about this she told me to invoice her and then she would send me NYU vendor
paper work to send back to Maria for me then to wait two weeks for a $40 check cut by the university...
This seemed odd to me.

I have done freelance work at and around NYU before and never received payment in this way... Normally
when I have done things- the person who hired me just paid me directly and I didn't have to submit anything to the school.

Within a week I had sent Brianna a sample of the footage and still had not been paid. Despite all this, I forwarded my personal information and the paperwork back to Brianna, who told me to email it to Maria. I made a comment like "you couldn't forward it to to her since she works for you" and Brianna got emotional and wrote me a long scathing email from which I responded with an email speaking my piece. It resulted in us agreeing to disagree and commencing that my check would be in the mail.

Though things got a little negative, I thought that we had moved past it...The paper work that I was told to send to Maria got sent to her... An issue popped up, but it was supposedly handled. I spoke directly to
Maria and gave her my social security number opposed to business tax id number because I wanted the check in my name and not my business names. My social was handed to her Oct. 5th...

I called to check in on what was happening on November 1st as I had never received the check I was promised in two weeks- a month ago. Maria said she would call me back, but did not follow up like she said she would. Because of the negative nature of my communication with Briana- I felt that something shady maybe going on. Because of this, I had an advocate of mine by the name of Vera Dumont contact both women.

Maria told Vera (my advocate) that she had not reached out due to illness, but assured that the payment would be sent . When Brianna called Vera, she claimed that she has no intention on paying me because she did not get a DVD, but I sent her the footage last month via wetrasfer.com and the agreement was that I would be paid for my time although we decided that we would not work together anymore. At this point I sent a mass email about the situation to several people at NYU to get down the bottom of the situation... This greatly angered Brianna and now she has taken to slandering my name and publishing my personal information over the internet.
