A woman going by the name Bridget O'Brien misrepresented herself as a successful book agent by taking advantage of a trusted friend of mine. She conned me into paying her 15k, assuring me I'd get that much back with my first book contract, and promised to return it if she failed. I hardly ever heard from her again. She stopped responding to my emails and eventually went completely off the radar. I eventually heard from the attorney of another of her "clients" who was looking for her for the same kind of scam. This is a sad woman who has learned to survive in this world by taking advantage of the hopes and dreams of others. If I'm angry, it's mostly at myself. I feel sorrow and pity for Bridget. What must she have gone through to turn her into such a person?
