I had a in warranty repair on my two year old heating system. I know the part that was bad was under warranty but it still cost me $750 for Brinson and Sons Heating and Air to fix it.I was ripped off. I was talked into replacing my working system instead of repairing it for the warranties.I don't blame the repairmen I blame the boss/owners of the repairmen that insisted on the charges in ripping me off.
I will no longer be contacting this company for an addition I am having put on. This company has turned into a scam, rip off that is out to mark-up prices and not respect A WARRANTY! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. LOOK ELSEWHERE. SHOP AROUND FOR OTHER HVAC companies IN the area.

The Best way to avoid this is do the work yourself. There are companies online where you can buy at close to whole sale prices. I purchased a rheem 2 ton unit for the same price you payed them to fix a compressor. Actually my whole system Rheem 2 ton condenser unit, 2 ton evaporator coil, 20 feet of refrigerant line sets cost me 1062$ If you know how to hook up a 220 wire and use a torch and flex seal and copper line cutters and you have a little bit of common sense it is easy to do the work yourself and not deal with lying rip off companies who in my case was going to charge me 3500$ to put a none name brand system in my home. The truth is thanks to youtube you can do anything yourself these days. Stay educated learn new things and also if you mess up its ok learn from it and try again all things are possible to prevent those fair prices they call it lol Good luck to you.

we used this hvac company but I wish we had gotten a second opinion on our five year old Trane. shortly after an expensive repair the compressor on our system failed. the business said it was probably low or erratic voltage, since they have found the current varies in our complex. turns out the compressor was compromised by lack of evacuation or isolation during the major repair. the first business said they had isolated the compressor by putting in valves in the attic; these were never found. the next company confirmed the sequence of events and also were $800 less for the second repair. the compressor had seized due to contamination. I fault myself for not getting a second opinion before spending over $3 ,000 on the initial repair.

Though the part was under warranty. You still had to pay for the labor in changing that part. You say the system was two years old, therefore my labor warranty had ran out after the first year. The price of $750.00 sounds like the cost of changing a compresser. Which is about a 3.5 to 4 hour job. Plus the cost of freon and other items needed to do the job. As far as telling you to change out the equipment that is 2 years old. That is something my company will not do. Any company in town would have charged about the same price to change a warranty compresser. Our prices are inline with other larger companys in town. If this was such an issue why did you not contact us. We do everything possilbe to keep our customers happy. Still to this day I don't recall such an issue like this. If there was a problem you should have ask to speak with the management. Our prices are fair, and we don't rip people off. There will be some customers that we just can't make happy. That is the nauture of owning a business.
