Bristol West AKA Farmers insurance is by far the worst insurance company I have dealt with yet.

I signed up with them because their rates were lower for my 01 Dodge Dakota, i was originally paying nearly $220 a month for full coverage with Nationwide.  My policy started in December of 2008 and was about $170 per month

After a couple weeks, I had decided to add my car to the policy, after having it under repair and upgrades for about 3 years i was ready to drive it again.  They argreed to add it to the policy, which originally increased the rates to $330 per month.

To my suprize the next bill, they had tried to bill me for $660 for that month, and the following months were $430. Then they dropped it down to $400, and on and on.  Got the 2nd bill fixed, but they tried to pull the same stunt in feburary, so near the end of that month i switched to Progressive auto and let the Bristol policy cancel.

About another month or so goes by, i started getting bills and e-mails trying to collect $1681 from me, which was the remainder of the policy period.  This is a CANCELLED policy.  I paid in advance for the time i was covered by them.  I made some calls, was given nothing but the run around.

Now, fast forward to today, I get a letter demanding payment for $1681, again, for the remainder of the policy period in which time i was INSURED BY SOMEONE ELSE AND NOT THEM!!!  So basically, they are trying to bill me for something they did not provide.

I have told them i refuse to pay for something that i did not recieve.  I did not like the terms of their policy because they kept trying to INCREASE my billing on a monthly basis.  So i went to another company, simple as that.  Im not going to let a company bullly me into paying a higher rate than others 'just because' they feel like it.

I sent a letter in reply to them warning them to cancel the debt or i will be taking further action against them.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!  I highly recommend Pxxxxxe or Gxxxx(((REDACTED))), do not let this company lure you in with their low rates, because they will do the bait and switch on you!!
