My Mother was a resident at the "PRESERVE OF PALM AIRE" IN POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA. THE NAME OF THE MAIN COMPANY IS BROOKDALE SENIOR LIVING. They have residences all over the country for the elderly, living independantly or in assisted living. My Mother was enrolled on thier automatic payment program and her rent withdrawn monthly from her bank account.
She did NOT have a lease. She had a bad fall in January resulting in a brain bleed, was hospitalized for a week and came home to the PRESERVE an invalid. She could no longer live independantly. We told the PRESERVE we would be moving out at the end of February, (45 days later) as she would need our 24/7 care. We told both the director of senior services and the manager of the facility. Then we moved out February 28. They went on to deduct March rent from her bank account. Now, a month later we have made over 20 phone calls to both the PRESERVE and BROOKDALE LIVING, each time coming away with a promise of a credit. Today they have informed us that there will be no credit given.
This company is a rip off. Even the last 45 days my Mother lived there they treated her badly, knowing she was leaving and there was nothing in it for them to treat her well. Do not trust your loved one to this company. they have no integrity.
P.S. They will also promise a $1000 referral fee to a resident. We did that as well, as our family physician moved his father into the faciltiy as a result of our referral. Don't believe it.....it never happened. Ripping off little old ladies..pathetic
