Folks:

Brown & Caldwell has some of the most unusual job requirements for a Senior Structural Engineer you'd ever hear of. Just ask B&C's HR person Marcy Akiyama of the Seattle office.

Marcy Akiyama told a candidate for the Senior Structural Engineer position that they had to be a resident of the Seattle area. If that's so, why didn't their ad state this? I guess Marcy Akiyama is insensitive to families. I mean, if my sick mother or other father was dying in the Seattle area and I needed a job to be closer to her or him, I must be a resident first then?  Marcy Akiyama has never heard of the concept of having a job first before you can relocate to an area like Seattle. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of.

If Brown & Caldwell cared about environmental friendly design, why do they require candidates to waste their time and money to move to the area where the jobs are before they have one? That's not green design, Marcy Akiyama. Marcy Akiyama is clearly a fossil fool!

Marcy Akiyama told this person (s)he had to be a salesman to work for Brown & Caldwell. Guess what this means? Does it mean that Brown & Caldwell rings up their engineering fees on projects like the fake free checking that Washington Mutual Bank? Or was Marcy just thinking about her Capitol Hill Chinese restaurant at 1407 14th Avenue in Seattle called the Lucky 8s China House? I wonder if Marcy Akiyama and her firm Brown & Caldwell have a history of discriminating against people who are unemployed through no fault of their own.

I wonder how her bosses at Brown and Caldwell would feel about Marcy's unethical conduct towards her job candidates. Marcy even advertises for jobs that are already filled and never removes them. Based on this, there is a possibility that someone she hires will be gone pretty quickly. I wonder if this is the hiring practice of Brown & Caldwell. I guess Marcy Akiyama's so sick she doesn't want Brown and Caldwell to make any money. After all, she throws away candidates who save their clients over $30 million in the span of 18 months! I guess because it didn't go into Brown & Caldwell's wallet, Brown & Caldwell would not hire me. She apparently never heard of reciprocity of engineering licenses between other states such as the California Structural Engineering License is compatible with Washington State's Structural Engineering License, for example. Apparently, my conversation with Akiyama demonstrates that keeping those engineering consulting fees high is more of a priority than long-term client satisfaction. Is this the kind of math she learned at Marysville Pilchuck High School?  Did Marcy Akiyama take a math course and get a failing grade or close to a failing grade while getting her Comparative Literature degree at the University of Washington?

I certainly would not dine at her restaurant located in Seattle based on her actions as a recruiter at Brown & Caldwell. The Lucky 8 China House is owned by JOHN BRACEY ROGERS (her husband), MARCY L. AKIYAMA, JAMES F. ROGERS, SCOT F. ROGERS, CODY G. JACOBSEN and Chef JUSTIN J. STRAND.

After all, how do I know Marcy would not impose a residency requirement on the dining customers that she does on the engineers she interviews at Brown and Caldwell? I guess Marcy Akiyama has never heard of tourism, perhaps!

So far, Brown & Caldwell Vice President Tracy Stigers and B&C President Craig Goehring, and fellow B&C Executives James R. Miller, Jeff Berk, Michael Britch & Cindy Paulson have failed to resolve the issue of Marcy's bigotry towards white people she didn't marry or go into business with. I never even got a response from Marcy Akiyama or any of these people, so I must assume this is true. Don't expect an apology from Brown & Caldwell for their unprofessional treatment of potential job candidates. If this is how they treat job candidates, imagine how badly they potentially treat their clients. I wonder what Moody's would do when they discover how bad B&C treats their personnel and wastes their money.

One thing about Brown & Caldwell is that their engineering is never checked by any city in which they supply services according to Tracy Stigers. It was so fun to hear her say this that I broadcasted it on the radio. This means that the clients are potentially screwed out of their money when a construction defect occurs. If you are a good structural engineer who satisfies your clients, don't even think about working for Brown & Caldwell. Their statements about wanting knowledgeable people are pure lies and propaganda based on my encounters alone. Take it from me I applied and got that as a response courtesy of Marcy Akiyama. Some people believe engineering really is a crooked profession and thanks to Marcy Akiyama, they may be right.

To any government agencies, banks, and insurance companies or investigative news reporters where Brown &
Caldwell has either done work or has an office located there, I am willing to work with you to determine if Brown & Caldwell potentially ripped you off.  Since Brown & Caldwell will not hire me to save their clients money, I will have to do this.  Based on my encounters so far with Marcy Akiyama, I have to say there's a potential for this to happen. After all, it's the public's money - Brown & Caldwell is willing to spend it based on my encounters!

They obviously made the right decision

You sound like you would make a terrible employee, and in fact it would not surprise me if you most certainly were at fault for your current unemployment. I mean obsessing over an employee of a company whose policies you dislike, researching her high school and a restaurant she owns (like that is supposed to impress us)? Writing her name out in your report dozens of times?

And how were they discriminating against you for being unemployed, or being white? That last one is a bit of a joke; care to show any evidence?

Brown & Caldwell should give Marcy a bonus for filtering you out; they really dodged a bullet there!
