I am a 'bit torrent' client. BT Guard says they can divert your IP address so that your computer is anonymous whilst you are torrenting: I download from Melbourne-my IP address is re-routed to Canada-then my torrent file appears to be originating from Canada to anyone who is interested in checking me out.
I purchased the software program in October 2009 for $9.25AUD (not a lot) and their policy is to automatically debit your Credit Card each month unless you cancel prior to the due date, which in my case was 25th November 2009.
I decided to cancel their product as it seemed not only pointless but illogical: anyone with a bit of IT experience knows that if the authorities really want you, they WILL find you. (I thought about all the filthy child predators out there & how easy it would be for all of them - not so!)
Anyway, I asked for confirmation of my cancellation in the first email ~ no reply. Second, third & fourth emails all ignored. Yes you guessed right, my VISA was debited (through PayPal) on 25th November.
When I confronted them, they cited "spam emails" as their excuse... no refund, no apology, no more emails.
I got an email from PayPal as well telling me I had to 'cancel my account on their site' before I could stop my VISA being debited.
STAY AWAY FROM BT GUARD, NETCRAWLED LLC - They WILL rip you!

Most of btguards customers are smarter than this. First off I wasn't able to find that "policy" anywhere on my own site. Second if you didn't want to get charged monthly then why did you get a paypal subscription instead of just buying one month? Third paypal subscriptions can only be canceled by the owner of the paypal account, we can't cancel it for you, fourth I responded to every single one of your emails and told you each time how to cancel your own account, i think you where just to stubborn to click 2 buttons. And how many people reading this are thinking "did you even try the support section on top of every page?" no he must not have because look at this https://btguard.com/support the very top question is "how do i cancel my account" I have copies of every email I sent you by the way here's the very first one.

And read his last line. Even paypal told him that he had to cancel his account on their site. Sorry being stubborn cost you. Ignorance is not an excuse. Everyone else plays by the rules, you are not more special than any of my customers. Good luck with the trolling.
