I was a employee at Buca Di Beppo and was treated like I was in the military. I was to memorize and take test on all the food on the menu and all the ingrdience in every dish. Mind you I was just a waitress, NOT a cook, and was fired becuase I didnt put on my test things like oregano in a dish or how many peices of bread in the large and small dishes. They made me eat raw sage and basil so i wouldnt get them mixed up on my test. Also they make you eat raw olive oil. Other employees that were also new and in training that were hired before I was, are still there and havent taken any test yet and they didnt get fired. at least I took the test and tired my best. and didnt cheat like the others did. basically dont work for buca di beppo they favor some employees and the ones they dont care for they make feel like they are beneth them and like them feel like failures!

First off there is nothing that can happen to you from eating "raw" olive oil. Olive oil is used for dipping at many Italian restaurants and tastes VERY good by itself (depending on what brand, extra virgin, etc). Sage and Basil also taste good raw. Why are you complaining about that? It is good to know the difference.
I am sure they test because people have food allergies. This is why you should know whats in the food so if some one is allergic they can leave it out. Gain a pallet, pass the GED, and start going to college, because moaning about how you could not get that job does no one any good, and you have only your self to blame for not studying.

- That is right..you were a waitress. So what would happen when a customer asks what is in the dish are you going to go back and pull a cook out of the kitchen?
With that attitude it is no wonder you were fired.
