About 18 months ago, we got a "preowned" washer dryer set from Buddy's. We were set up to pay on the 18th of each month based on where paydays landed.

Our income situation changed around April, so we had Buddy's change our payments to every 2 weeks on a Tuesday, based on the new payday. We continued making payments mostly on time, paying a few late fees.

In late August of this year, I noticed that the price was higher. I checked the reciept and saw the $5 late fee. I didnt think much of it bc we had been late before. The next payment also had a late fee, even tho we were paying on time. My husband asked why, and he was informed that corporate had changed the policy so every pyment was due on a saturday, so when we paid  on Tuesday, it was late.

My husband set it up so that we paid extra so our payments due on saturday would be paid the previous tuesday, on payday - on time.

Things got busy, i kept paying every two weeks, til November I noticed late fees again. I spoke to "Jim" who was running the counter that day. He explained the corporate policy changing due dates to saturday. I explained that we had already straightened that out months ago. Jim then gve me "4 days free" to carry us to the next payday without a late fee. He then asked for my payment, which suddenly became $10 more than usual. When I asked why, Jim got quite upset bc I (in his words) "didn't appreciate" the 4 free days. He ended up knocking $8 off and i made the payment plus $2 extra. I dont even know why, I was just upset at how he was treating me and wanted to leave. The next payment i did over the phone bc i just didnt want to be talked down to again.

End of Dec, the dryer stops working. Buddys came to bring us a loaner and sent the dryer for service.

Payment due a few days later,  we go in to pay off our account in full bc neither of us wants to deal with Jim anymore. Jim says we cannot pay off our account bc its in loaner status while our dryer is out. He wants us to make a rental payment bc by now we are a day late. And no, he was not nice about it.

I stepped outside and called  corporate. I was told the regional manager would call me back within 48 hrs. except its now been 5 days and nothing. Told Jim I would not pay anything until I could speak with regional manager. Yesterday, a Chris with Buddys actually called me for payment. Ugh.

Im done. Sending the set back and they can go fly a kite.

Just wish I coukd get back some of those erroneous late fees. Id have to add them up, but Id say theres at least a good $20+ that we never shoukd have been charged.
