Budget Brakes of Murfreesboro Tennessee Way overcharged Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Knew there was a problem with the right front brake..could see the rotor was beeing scarred and was grinding bad. Stopped here knowing of the the advertised great deals on brake repairs. The staff was nice enough..however, by the time I left I was stuck with a 315.96 bill for front brake replacement and a bad caliper. So I chose to do a little after the fact shopping and found the labor and part rates were out of this world. Most brake jobs labor includes the the removal and reinstall of hardware, on my bill it was an additional charge( has to be done ayway to change just the pads)....I was charged 15.00 in labor for the 19.95 hardware kit that was 9.49 across the street. I was charged 99.00 for caliper I could have walked across the street and bought for 55.00 and was charged an additional 44.00 for labor to install it. The pads were a reasonable 19.95 and the labor for the install of the pads was 70.00. So 70 to install pads,15 to remove and reinstall the hardware for the pads, 44 to remove and reinstall the caliper, the max they can charge for shop supplie at 19.95, total 139 in parts that were 81 across the street then add another 129 in labor (plus tax I won't hold them to) gave me a whopping total of 315.96 in parts and labor for 1 axle. They did throw in a tire rotation while they had them off. By the way 17 percent of parts and labor for shop supply charges (Really).

Well it all I have to say is good job on the  ad about the lowest brake repair service to get folks in (ya got me). I was in a bind and needed a quick economical repair.....I will spread the word.............
