st point: The company is aware and has been severely affected by all of the complaints filed against them. How can you explain going from 170 homes in 2000 to 67 in 2001. People take notice and definetly search the internet these days when purchasing a new home. I can't count how many times I had to start off defending the company because someone had been to this site or HADD.com and read the "real story" about Richard Fuller Homes.
nd point: They use "scare" tactics to try to get people who are under contract but then decide not to purchase to close on the house. Ive been told by customers that they receive letters from a Fuller attorney threatening to sue them if they don't close on the house. They actually won't sue but hope to scare people into purchasing the home that they don't really want. My best advice is only leave a $500 dollar earnest deposit. They will ask for $1,500 or more of witch only a small portion is refundable if you decide not to buy after seeing this site! I know from experience they will get upset if you back out after seeing this site. Also... don't ever go under contract with another builder if you are under contract with Fuller Homes. They can get you legally if you do that. Once you decide not to buy one of their pathetic homes, ask for a withdrawl agreement, sign it and fax it to the corporate office. Believe they will take up to 30 days to sign it and return your earnest deposit in the hopes you will get frustrated and just buy the home.
rd point: The warranty book is a joke. It shows numbered pages in the index but the pages aren't numbered. It also says it has warranty request forms which it doesn't. Good luck getting them sent to you.
th point: If you have a fuller home built 2 years ago the company that put in your a.c. and heat will not service it under the warranty program... can't blame them... they said they have never been paid... thats Airco in Crowley, Texas
th point: Shortly before I quit I was told they were having trouble finding additional areas to build in because their were no developers that wanted them because of their reputation.
To summarize this report: I don't expect them to be around much longer. Their reputation is catching up to them. They are like a bad soap opera in their business practices. The former President cheated on his wife with the Office Manager, etc.etc. Its no wonder their on "life support" More tasty information tomorrow.
