Business Futures ie Joe Schneckenburger rented me an apartment and really took advantage of me. Mr Schneckenburger also has a real estate company where I imagine he really takes advantage of people and I do not want anyone else being riped off! The day I looked at the apartment there were five other individuals looking at it and I could not get a good feel since the place was so crowded. On the face of things it seemed ok and was in the location I wanted. When I looked at the apartment it smelled like a nice candle. The day I received the keys and went to the apartment it smelled horrible. I called Business Futures and the woman who answered the phone said it was because the former tenants had three cats. I
received an email saying sorry the people before you had one cat. Then I spoke to another person who said they had a cat and a dog. I said I refuse to move in and made them sign a document saying the apartment was uninhabitable
due to the smell and cat hair. Then I received this email We had a professional at your property today and he did not find any cat smell or urine.
He did say it smelled stale and after crawling on his hands and knees on the carpet, he did find some dog urine. 
What is a professional cat or dog urine smeller?  Since I refuse to move in and made them sign a document they replaced the carpet. After replacing the carpet I moved some furniture in and the apartment had a toxic smell. The following is a review from Yelp.com. This is one sketchy company you do NOT want to rent from!  The agents are dishonest, especially the older man with a balding spot. They will not return phone calls. The units have lead in the paint, and they have a

does not does not return calls and the places have a smell that no amount of fabreeze can hide. I moved my large furniture in during the day then went back to my X-wifes places to move more items and do some work since I did not have
an Internet connection. When I came back to the apartment it was freezing! So I called the emergency call line and it took about ten minutes for me to finally get someone to call me back. Two hours later a man showed up to fix the heater.
As I was waiting with my ski jacket on I was walking around the apartment to get a better look at things. Since it was in the evening I turned all the lights on and saw an absolute mess in certain places. The most disgusting thing is when I lifted the toilet seat there was still fecal remnant on it. (This is not something one checks when they are looking at an apartment). I was not given a move in sheet to write down what was wrong with the apartment. I have several pictures and videos of the nastiness. After a long battle I was charged one-months rent to get out of the lease. I had furniture in the apartment from
February 3, 2012 February 8, 2012 and slept at a friends house each night. I called Business Futures several times and after no return calls in order to get a walkthrough of the apartment I had to stop by their office and wait until someone would do a walkthrough WITH ME. The person who did the walkthrough started showing me filth everywhere. I had to show her the pictures and videos from the day I moved in. I emailed Business Futures there should not be any cleaning or repair costs since the only thing I did was move some things into the apartment for a few days then move them out.   Two weeks later I received an email. This is to inform you that you owe $163.00 for a heating emergency call (It was determined that you disconnected the thermostat) and $20.00 for light cleaning. Charges are due by February 23rd or you will be responsible for March's rent and the remainder of the lease.  According to weather station at Lookout Pointe, Golden, CO at 6:23pm (18:23) it was 26.2F including the wind-chill factor it was 17.8F. We also received 18 inches of snow. It is insane that I
disconnected the thermostat. Im and accountant I have no clue how to disconnect a thermostat. When I called about the heat I asked the guy if there was somehow I could fix it.  

On February 21, 2013 I tried calling Business Futures regarding a charge of $163 after paying the company the first months rent and utilities of $906 and $860 to get out of a lease, $1,766 in total, and they would not answer the phone. After not calling me back I called again at 12:30pm and once again nobody answered at 12:47pm I received a call from Officer Glen Moore of the Golden, CO police department telling me that I was harassing Business Futures and should only contact them, via email. And if I called them again I would be charged with harassment. Officer Glen Moore repeatedly said he was not filing charges and that I did not know how serious this matter was.   I thought due to the reaction time, Officer Moore's essentially threatening me then saying I should only contact Business Futures via email there might be a connection between Mr. Schneckenburger and Officer Moore. So I asked Officer Moore if he knew Mr. Schneckenburger. He kept saying he is a police officer in Golden and knows a lot of people. Officer Moore asked if I would like his supervisor to call me. I said yes.   Sergeant Williams called me advising me charges would not be filed and I should let the courts sort things out. I asked Sergeant Williams if Officer Moore and Mr. Schneckenburger knew each other. He said he believed they were on a board together. In between Officer Moore and Sergeant Williams call I did a little research and it turns out Mr. Schenckenburger and Officer Moore are neighbors. I asked Sergeant Williams if they were neighbors he said he believed they were on a board together but were not neighbors.  

At 3:17pm someone from the Golden Police Department called and I did not answer. At 3:29pm Officer Moore called me again to see if I understood everything.   I read the Colorado harassment law which states Initiates communication with a person, anonymously or otherwise by telephone, computer, Officer Moore said I should not contact Business Futures
via telephone but could contact them via email i.e. computer. (Ive attached a copy of the law below). This is the part that sticks out in my head and why I feel like Officer Moore was doing a favor for his friend and neighbor. Why would he tell me to only email Business Futures?  My thought is because they would not return my call regarding their charge and no longer wanted me calling. Per the law harassing someone via phone is the same as harassing someone via a computer
i.e. email.   When I was an auditor and people did not call back regarding confirmation letters I called them everyday
sometimes twice a day and never received a call from a police officer regarding harassment. I feel this is similar. Business Futures wanted money from me and gave me a date of February 23, 2012 to provide the money or they would take me
to court. I wanted to discuss why they thought I owed them money however they would not answer the phone nor call me back.
