I started working 3 weeks ago for a company called C&C Promotions selling.....Rainbow vacuum ( which keep in mind we were told not to tell people that). Anyway, I answered an add in the paper that stated that it was a sales job, selling air purification systems with a GUARANTEED pay of $533.00. NO CAP ON COMMISSION, FT/ BENEFITS....NO DOOR TO DOOR, and REFERRALS PROVIDED.
Well....let me just say........That was the biggest load of bull I think I have ever heard.

Well during my training I asked if the training was paid and I was told by a trainer there that YES it was. So , I continued on with the training and was very happy with the job at that point. UNTIL.. training was done and we had to start doing our sales and getting referrals , which keep in mind we were told were provided. I had just moved to Indiana from New Jersey and knew not one person here except for my sister - in- law and 2 of her friends. So , I did demos for them as part of my training and did a really good job , I felt I was ready to get my 24 referrals and do my best.

Well, I went in everyday for the regular 1pm meeting but no referrals were provided , and everyone that I had gone to training had either quit or were looking for other jobs. I was told by the trainers Steve and Brandon that they were "losers". Well little by little the truth about the company started to come out. First it was DDR's which is Door to Door registrations,a then it was you had to go around to companies and ask if you could leave drop boxes so people could fill out cards and "win" a bunch of crap. Keep in mind still no referrals were given to me at this point.

Now from the original 8 that were in training with me I was the only one left. Well "payday" came along and I hadn't made a sale yet but hey that was alright because remember it was a GUARANTEED $533.00 a week even if you don't sell anything. So I go into speak to my "boss" Corbett Nunemaker just to find out that I would not be receiving any pay at all, and denied running an ad like that in the paper (which I have , and if anyone is willing to help me I will be more than happy to hand it over)

Also, I forgot to mention that I did put 100% into this I went door to door and I went to companies to do the drop boxes and I also had a show to do that night....but according to Corbett I didn't deserve the pay and had I made 24 appointments and didn't sell anything I would have been fired anyway. But let me tell you what he did do......he gave me my 24 referrals by picking up a stack of papers and shoving them into my chest and saying "here don't say I never did anything for you!"

When I asked him about the training that was supposed to be paid like I was told buy my trainer Steve he said "No, that's not right, training is never paid, it's all part of your 24 referrals in 2 weeks." well lets do the math here training = 1 week that leaves another week 6 days to do 24 appointments that take at least an hour and a half but no appointments before 4pm, 24 divided into 6 days that would be 4 appointments a day but only after 4pm!!!!

On top of if I didn't make a sale I was fired and NO money....There was no way I was ever going to get paid. Now I said to him that Steve said the training was paid and his wonderful response was " Let's get him on the phone and ask him, but even if he says yes that he did say that I will correct him." Well, don't you thing if your having someone train a group of new employees you would make sure they had the proper information to pass on to the new employees, and "Hey am I getting paid for training?" is not an uncommon question after you learn that your really selling a vacuum.

Look I'm not putting the vacuum down, that thing is awesome and it sells itself but the people at C&C Promotions are liars and they give a good product a bad name with the attitude and I quote " keep call these people for an appointment until they tell you to piss off." All I want is for people to be aware of the lies they will feed you, and I would like to be paid for the work that I did for that company.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I've been in Aaron's shoes.

A friend of mine worked retail with me, and was looking for a higher paying job. He told me about a newspaper ad delivering "medical supplies." My 2 friends were desperate enough to quit their jobs ON THE SPOT. I made up some dumb excuse and got the week off, because I already had a bad feeling. We went to an office building (which is now a credit union) and met Corbitt (or Corbett?) Nunamaker and 30 guys thinking they were about to start a great, high paying job. At that time, Corbett didn't have any helpers to mislead anyone there for the "training." I wanted to ask if the training (Monday to Friday) was paid, but I just waited for someone else to raise their hand and ask. Corbett immediately embarrassed this poor guy and then kept on talking. He gave us all his cell phone number (which I still have in my phone, for some reason). We were instructed to first go to our friends and relatives and give them the whole Rainbow speech and try to get them to buy these super expensive (but very effective) Rainbow sweepers. By Wednesday, one of my friends stopped showing up, and that was it for me and my other friend. Corbett sold it pretty well at the time, that we were all going to get paid. During a chat with a few of us after "training" was over for that day, he even told us he could help us falsify receipts and other things for our taxes at the end of the year. If he hasn't himself falsified tax documents before, I'd be shocked. We all laughed and asked if he was serious. He said "Rainbow Rainbow!" and winked at us. After a quick internet search, he's still in the area, pushing some other product, or it's just him selling Rainbows but calling it something else. I'm shocked that there's only one report on this guy. If there are similar websites like Ripoff Report that I don't know about, I'm sure there are similar comments about this guy. Avoid him at all costs. Unless you have some free time and you want a good story to tell your friends.

Very unfortunate.

I would like to publicly apologize to Aaron for his confusion, although this compliant is way off base. Occasionally in our business a few people get recruited in with $ in their eyes. Sometimes they don't think about the hard work it takes to become successful and typically only hear what they want to hear. In Aarons case I think he was at a disadvantage starting in because, if I remember correctly, he was very new to the area and had no referrals to start with. Our business is PRIMARILY referral based, and no where in our recruiting plan does it say that referrals are provided. These statements by Aaron are unfair without real proof.  I did everything I could do to help him get started.
