C & F Trucking Refused to pay last check Mt Airy Maryland

I've worked part time driving a dump truck for Carol Frady. Her company is C & F Trucking in Mt Airy Maryland. Primarily Carol sub contracts her 3 dump trucks to Pleasants Excavating

Carol typically does not maintain her commercial vehicles well. On my last day of work (5/15/08) the old 1995 Blue Ford Dump truck I drove for her broke down. The fuel pump solenoid bolt was lose, causing the wire to short out, causing the truck to starve for fuel.

The Job C & F Trucking was subcontracting for was in Urbana MD, for Valley Excavating, a Hagerstown MD site developement firm.

Carol's Husband- Joe Frady came to investigate why the truck I was driving was broke down, he accused me of 'tearing up the truck' and claimed it was my fault that the truck was broke down.

We'd run the battery down attempting to start the truck, Joe Frady got exasperated and demanded that I get out of the vehicle so he could run the battery down some more.

When I failed to step aside fast enough to suit Joe Frady, he accosted me, he phyisically grabbed me by the throat and threated to "beat the hell out of" me.
I did NOT hit him back:

for one thing he's older than me, I respect my elders.
for another thing Joe had just come back from the VA hospital just 30 minutes before this and to the best of my knowledge had just had minor surgery.

After calming down a bit, I asked Joe to simply apologize and I'd drop the issue (thinking to myself, just consider the source)

Joe Frady threated me again!

I called 911 to report all of the above.

Frederick Sherrif Jason Synder responded and took my assault complaint.

I was told I had up to a year to press charges... I wanted to get my last check before I did press charges...

4 months later, no check, just excuses from Carol about how *I cost her the contract* she had with Valley Excavating, Hagerstown MD.

Carol Frady refused to pay me
Carol Frady refused to accept my phone calls
Carol Frady refused to return my phone messages...


I pressed charges against Jor Frady
I sent in a complaint to MD D.L.L.R (Dept of labor & licencing)
I sent her a certified letter requesting payment of her debt.
I'm suing her in small claims court

C & F Trucking owes me $180 for my last paycheck.

I'm doing all this for the principal of it, I'm not the first shmuck Carol has ripped off, I'm leaving a paper trail for the next poor fool who finds them selves down on their luck and is foolish enough to go to work for C & F Trucking.
