A few months ago, C & R Auto Glass installed a windshield in my vehicle. A couple months later, I noticed the vehicle carpet on the passenger side was wet whenever it rained. When I pulled back the carpet, I found the floorboard was very wet and the carpet padding was rotting and effectively ruined.

After a couple weeks of troubleshooting the problem, I discovered the windshield was leaking on the top passenger side corner. Rain water was running down the door pillar to the vehicle floor. The carpet and padding were acting like a wick and sucking up the rain water for over two and one-half months.

I approached the owners of C & R Auto Glass about the problem. Without saying a word, the owner came outside to my truck and looked at the interior windshield corner. He then abruptly went back into the building without saying a word. Then, he came back outside about five minutes later and again looked at the windshield. He admitted the windshield was leaking from the top corner and that he could pull the truck inside to fix it, which I allowed him to do.

His solution was to only apply more polyurethane from the interior of the truck. I told them that solution was unsatisfactory and that I would have the windshield professionally replaced by a reputable national company.

At no time were the owners apologetic about the damage that the leak caused to my truck carpet. They did not offer to pay for repairs. In fact, they seemed irritated that I even approached them about the problem.

This company doesn't seem to back up their work without getting upset with the customer for bringing it to their attention. Overall, the quality of their work is questionable and their customer service is poor. I will never use them again for any work and would highly recommend others first check out their reputation before using them.

this was insurance work.  If it was, then you should call up your insurance company and b***h about how shoddy the work is being done by this place.  Or you can just break the window again and get it fixed right at a more professional place.

A sidenote: Just because a company has a big name, like safelite, doesnt mean you will get professional service there either.  Watch out for high school flunkies they try to push on your car.  Simply refuse and go somewhere else if you have to.  Watch the install.  Your car will thank you for it. At least safelite is a national chain so you should get a nationwide warranty though.  Plus you will get a satisfaction survey and an 800# to b***h to.

I wonder how the owner will feel if his personal vehicles windshield was to "somehow" start leaking?
