i was called not 24 hours after i submitted my resume into monsterjobs.com. They tried everything in their power to get me to bite in on thier promote with in training into management jargen. With my 15 years experience in customer service, i saw and got out.
I was set up for the first interview where they were trying to convience me about thier job and how badly they needed me and how over qualified I was but how badly they wanted my experience and expertise to help their company prosper. I should have caught on when i heard the word juiced. I did not. I was brought for a second interview. This was a day of observation. I was advised to come in business atire. I wore a suit. the trainer took me to home depot, advised me that we are going to walk around and talk to customers and set up leads for their cabinet refacing, new decks, and under decking. I would be paid $45 a lead and per hour pay. first i was told to show up at 9 am for second interview Tuesday and we I was sent out to home depot with a trainer and another trainee. During the 2 hours I was there she received a phone call from the owner advising to bring me back to the office asap as they wanted me for the 3rd and final stage of the interview process. I met with a very nice gentleman dress very nicely, and he advised me of the training program. they saw me being in management in less than 6 months and within eight months saw me owing my own company with them. they would provide an accountant, lawyer, and small staff to get started.
they would pay my bills for 2 months, all of the office bills, pay, etc. after the two months i would have to have my office making that kind of money to pay the over head. I asked what the pay was. the man said he had to talk to his boss, the owner, because i was unique and would let me know but the commisions i would make would be minium 45 dollars.
I was asked to come back the next day to start my first full day at work. I said ok will you know about the hourly pay then, yes he told me. The next day was a wednesday, this office is closed on wednesdays. I was called at 1050pm on tuesday night and adivsed "whoops sorry about that,we forgot that the office is closed on wednesday."
I was then asked to go in on Thursday morning at 9am. at 7 pm Wednesday night i was advised to come in at 11 am because they forgot about a big meeting they were having at 11 am.
Thrusday morning i went in listened to the Customer Builders rep for Home Depot pitch his product, thought ok easy enough. Went to home depot, in the trainers car, and proceeded to walk around and talk to customers. She was only able to get one lead the whole time we were there. No problem, the store was not busy at all.
at 555pm she told me ok walk around on your own, pitch everyone for the next 10 minutes and I will meet you by the exit doors and we will go home. I said great. I walked the entire store twice as no one was there that I had not already pitched, didn't see her. at 605pm i was up at the front doors and asked the home depot employee where she had gone, they advised that she had left already. I walked out to the parking lot where i found her sitting in her car. I assumed she was warming it up because it was quite cold. I opened up the door and the smell of POT was everywhere in the car. She was out in the car getting high. I was worried that now i have my life in her hands and she is stoned out of her mind. I am done. We made it to the office ok, after 2 near accidents that she would have been the cause for, I got in my car came home told my family of my dealings. called the next morning and quit.
I was also told at that time that I would be paid 10 per hour or commision which ever is higher. Now i have worked over 11 hours and will wait and find out if I get paid for those days.

Toys!!

Thats basically it with bay area promotions, you sell toys in north minneapolis ghetto areas and other parts of the metro. You basically work from 8am to 830pm monday through friday and saturday 9am to 4pm.. basically the only way for you to even make money, if any is to give up most of your life to it selling toys and going door 2 door. Its ridiculous. Your averaging over 60 or more hours a week and if you dont sell anything that day your basically told that its your fault. It was the worst decision ive made to work at a company ever. DO NOT WORK THERE!!!

No, it is a scam.

They lie to you about what the job is, what the real opportunities are, and what they do. If you do come in for the second interview, you realise the pyramid scheme you're really getting into.
See "Endeavor Advertising Group," it's the same company.

There is more here than you say

First off I would like to say I started with this company in Green Bay before it moved to MN. What you are saying about recruiting tactics is somewhat true. But you make it seem like it is a total scam. Because of the type of business it is yes they like to get individuals in and as many as possible. I was very successful in this business. I had never had sales experience and I flew up the ladder until I screwed it up for myself.
This company offers an opportunity to anyone who wants to work hard. This business isn't for the lazy. Never once did they offer me to pay bills for 2 months as I did get to the point of running my own business. The whole thing about we forgot we are closed on Wednesday doesn't make sense either. Wouldn't you suspect something right there and ask questions and look up what this company is about. So many people talk about they promise you this and promise you that. I was never promised anything in that business. I just worked hard for about 5 months and was rewarded with a business opportunity of being my own business owner. And guess what, I didn't pay a dime for it. And yes had my own accountant, lawyer, and such.
So that is the only promise they give that "IF"you make it to ownership, you will get these services. My hard work of the last 5 months was the only thing I had to pay. So many people who failed in that business say they promised me this and that and they lied. No you were just to lazy to go grab the opportunity.
Now on to what happened with the pot smoking. You just quit without informing the manager. Well, then in my opinion you are an idiot. Why wouldn't you report it, as him being the manager, he isn't able to hold everyones hand. He has different people working out in the business world not in his office so he really can's see what they are doing. Another reason why it is commission. Why pay someone hourly so they can go slack off in an unsupervised environment.
