 We ordered Optimum Online's "Triple Play" package @ $69.99 per month for 12 months for my residence , with 200 MB bandwidth, phone and cable TV service (260 channels). Optimum only installed the phone and internet, and provided a free "digital antenna" to receive about a dozen channels, many of them pixellated and unresponsive.. I told the Optimum Online/Cablevision Installer when he arrived that he should leave the existing Verizon FIOS service intact. Instead, near the end of the installation he cut Verizon's cable and hooked up Cablevisions internet through Verizon's cable. When he made it clear that the television was not being installed, we called Optimum Online, and they refused to talk to anyone not named with the company name paying for the service. Repeatedly calling, the Sales Dept. agreed to install the television service for an additional $29/month, for $98 total cost. I asked the Installer to hook my Verizon Service back up and remove Cablevision, and he said he could not do that, that if we did not complete installation he would not be paid, and he would leave us without phone or internet or TV service.

After spending almost two hours on the phone and getting the runaround from Optimum Online, We filed complaints with the NJ Board of Public Utilities and the NJ Consumer Complaints Div. We requested that Optimum Online /Cablevision be ordrered to provide the services advertised, at the price advertised, $69.99 per month, including cable television with 260 channels, and to credit our account for the excess cost charged during the installation period until the television is provided, of $20 per month above the cost shown for their "Phone & Internet" packages. They also charged $60 for installation, which their advertising showed would be free. We request that they refund the $60 as well.
