My husband and I bought a Saturn lw300 through Chapman auto, the finance company is C.A.G Acceptance. We had the car for about 4 months and the engine through a rod they would not fix the vehicle and they would not sell us a new one. on top of that after having it for not even a full 20 days our Catalytic converter went out and they wouldn't fix it they said that it looked like we did something to make them go out they tried to tell us that it was going to be $1000.00 to replace them.

I called the finance company to see if there was something else they can do and they said no you need to pay for it. I highly suggest not buying a car through Chapman or even trying to finance through CAG Acceptance I know 5 other people who have had similar problems through this finance company and dealership and they would all say the same thing.

so unless you want to have a finance company harass you harass you at your place of business please take my advice and don't go through CAG Acceptance or Chapman.

I bought from them with mechanical issues

AUTHOR: Nicole - ()

POSTED: Saturday, May 03, 2014

I purchased a 2005 Sonata in April of last year from Chapman Auto. The car broke 3 days later.  I took it back and they "fixed" it only for the problem to return a few months later. At that point,  I was informed by an employee that I purchased a USED car and I would have to take care of it. If I wanted their help I'd have pay $100 for them to Even look at it! I went to management and got the car checked out.

They said they changed my spark plugs.  Problem is still there. Over a year later,  it has gotten so bad,  I'm taking it to the shop next week.  I would not buy anything from chapman auto again.  I have no issue with CAG as I pay my bills on time.

In my experience with Chapman Auto, they sold me a broken car, said they'd fix it, then made it almost impossible to have the car even looked at. They did not honor their word, so i would never go back. I'd avoid purchasing from them.

Paul was a bit harsh.

Did you

1. Consult Consumer Reports [April issue & annual buying guide] to learn what used cars offer above-average reliability?

2. What reliability rating does CR list for that Saturn?

3. Did you have YOUR mechanic inspect the car?

4. Catalytic converters, if I recall correctly, are covered by the manufacturer for 10 years or 100,000 miles per the EPA rules.

In the end its your responsibility

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

Did you buy an extended warranty? All cars break down unfortunatly, and in the end you are still responsible for paying the loan. The bank took a chance by financing you and you need to live up to your responsibility. I would say get the car fixed and keep making your payments, if you don't than you will never get financed again. I think it is sad that you are blaming the company you bought it from. How many miles did the car have on it when you bought it? If you would have bought it from a private party they wouldn't warranty the car for you either. Why does everybody think the dealers should fix a car after you owned it for 4 months and have driven it x number of miles? They sold you a car, it broke down after 4 months, you own, it fix it! Nobody can tell when a car is going to break down, if they could everybody would be their own mechanic.
