Cal Spas sales rep Rick Martinez lied and mis quoted many items and prices as he sold my wife and I a spa last July at the Orange County Fair. One big problem that I am still having is getting refunded on an unnecessary CRANE expense. Rick said I needed 7'6" height clearance and 42" width clearance to get the spa into the backyard.
With the spa on a dolly it didn't clear the height on my front overhang. Cassandra at Cal Spas delivery at first was helpful after telling her my ordeal, but turned stubborn and unresponsive as I tried to clear up the CRANE expense. I was QUOTED BY CASSANDRA the price of $105 PER HOUR with a 2 hour minimum for a crane that I shouldn't have needed in the first place. Bill at Bill Bouska Crane Service charged me $300 for another type crane. Supposedly, there are different types and sizes.
I paid the $300 and regreted doing so eversince. Five months later after numerous e-mails and phone calls, Joy, a customer service manager calls me. She informs me that there is nothing that anyone can do. She also states that if I subtract the $300 from my final payment that all finance charges will appear. THIS IS BOGUS! CASSANDRA & RICH SHOULD BE FIRED AND FIND WORK THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE THE PUBLIC! I THINK THE COMPANY IS JUST A BIG SCAM!

I am the Cal Spas Customer Relations Manager. I do apologize if any misleading information was offered to you during your purchasing experience, I will confer with all persons involved to correct all inaccurate/inconsistant processes/information.
In regards to the crane expense, Sales representative may offer some installation advise, however, being that they are not familiar with your environement/application, it is only advice.
We must all take some responsibility as a manufacture, retailer and consumer to make our transaction(s) as friendly as possible. Therefore, we offer on our website and at time of sale a free "Pre-delivery" manual (http://www.calspas.com/parts/images/2004_Spa_Predelivery.pdf) to guide you through your installation.
Pre-delivery guide (page 4) offers instructions to check your spa deminsions on page 8 (according to model) as it sits on the spa cart to ensure adequate clearance and pre determined .
Also, informs; to protect your investments (property and spa) and persons the spa must remain on the cart. Furthermore, if a crane is necessary and not included in the cost of the original contract it the buyers resonsibility.
Should you have documentation from a Cal Spas representative (time of sale) providing information (prices, demensions, special offers) I will be more than happy to HONOR it. We are a fair company and do not want our consumers disaticfied nor mislead. Unfortunately, independant dealers/service centers may mis-represent us, Cal Spas is willing to stand behind our prodcut and fix the problem.
