Hello my name is Carroll Urzendowski I am currently stationed in the Army at Ft. Richarson Alaska. About a month ago I went into Cal Worthington Ford for an oil change on my 04 Ford F-250 (gas engine). I ended up purchasing a new 06 Ford F-250 (diesel engine)and I am quite happy with the vehicle. The sale was painless and the service was second to none. This is obviously not why I'm posting this compliant so I'll get on with it. After I purchased my truck I refered a friend to the dealer who also purchased a similiar truck.

Now while I was making my purchase I was told that if I refered a friend I would get a check for $300. Now being the great friend that he is he said that I was his referer hence making me elegible for the $300 right? Wrong! I have been chasing finance personel and salesmen around for nearly a month now with no success.

Maybe I'm being a little crazy about this $300, but between my friend and I we spent almost $100,000 in trucks! If I'm wrong about this please someone tell me but for $300 these people have been avoiding me like the plague. The reason that this bothers me so much is that this is a multi-million dollar corporation and I'm chasing them around $300 lousey dollars.

I'm sure some of you reading this are saying its only $300 but up here in the tundra diesel fuel isn't cheap. In closing, I would like anyone who feels that I'm being crazy to let me know. However, I would also like to here from people who agree with me or have had a similiar experience.

Thank you for your time,
Carroll Urzendowski

I am the office manager for Cal Worthington Ford in Anchorage, Alaska.

It is not the intention or belief that our customers should be treated in this manner. I have looked into your situation and found the sales manager inadvertantly misplaced your referral. According to our records your referral check was sent to you on 02/27/06 and cleared our account on 03/03/06.

Can't Help Themselves

They can't help themselves. They're car guys. People have spent "almost $100,000" and they don't want to caugh up $300. It's that painful to them. Come to think of it, someone, including you, might not buy a vehicle, from them, over the $300. $300 does sound a little high, around here the going rate is $50 for a referral.
