Calder City Construction - Don Anderson - Steve Wiersema - Jeff Tarak - Jeff Tarak Builders ripoff BUILDERS, Took the Money and RAN; Shoddy workmanship; CON-ARTISTS Ada Michigan

Don Anderson (7987 36th st SE, Ada, MI 49301) and Steve Wiersema (Operating as Calder City Construction) were paid over $12,430.37 in insurance money to repair damages to our house from a storm in 2002. Work began in December 2003, and has not been completed yet (as of Sept 2005) Work was stopped in February 2004 by Grand Rapids MI City Building Inspectors because of Code Violations, and we discovered that Calder City Construction did not have a Contractor's license. City of Grand Rapids ALLOWED Jeff Tarak (dba: Jeff Tarak Builders; J T Renovations; J T Renovators 906 E. Main st., Lowell, MI 616 897 8722; Michigan License #2101086946) to pull the necessary permits for or on behalf of Calder City Construction to complete the job (in violation of Michigan Law).


This picture shows the seam and crack between two sheets of drywall, still evident in the "textured ceiling" we told them several times we did not want. They attempted three times to add "more texture" and the seam/crack is even more evident.

Jeff Tarak was paid $4360 for code violation upgrades. In addition: Calder City was also paid $8,000 for other "renovations" and remodeling work.

All of the work has been substandard. NONE of the work has been completed. Anderson, Wiersema and Tarak have ignored all phone calls and letters, even from our attourney. Our investigation shows that Anderson, Wiersema and Tarak, dba Calder City Construction; Jeff Tarak Builders et al; have been sued multiple times (Don Anderson has been sued over 15 times in 5 years in just ONE Court). Yet these CRIMINALS are still doing business as usual.
