I contacted Calico Light Weapons Systems in regards to 2 used firearms I bought, that need repairs. they told e to send itinto them and they gave me their address and I sent it in to them. I am a licensed Firearms dealer and they are a licensed  firearms manufacture.

 

I verified they received my firearms, then they pretty much stopped returning my emails. I sent firearms into them On November 7th 2014. I have been emailing them and trying to call them every couple weeks to get updates, and they stopped giving me updates going on 4 weeks ago, which they said they would have a tech get to them in a week and they will contact you. they didnt say when exaclty or how thye planned on contacting me.

 

They told me they  had trouble reaching my email, so I gave them my phone number and asked them to email me from a different address.  I left  a couple phone messages,which were never returned

 

I reported them to the BBB. I also noticed they have several similar BBB complaints.

 

At this point, Callico Light weapons systems has two of my firearms,  and wont contact me about what is going on with those firearms.

 

I will be reporting this to the ATF, if they dont respond to my BBB complaint. I am a licensed firearms dealer,a dn I ahve to account for all my logged in and logged out firearms. If they just keep my firearms, I have to report them to the ATF, otherwise, who knows what might happen to those firearms.

 

Calico Light weapons systems needs to  create a customer support system for firearms repairs, or just not do repairs at all. I suppose they can just manufacture stuff, then never fix it, I dont know what their issues are, but I can tell you, if you send them a firearm, dont ever plan on seeig it again!

 

I deal with a lot of manufactures and distributors in this business. This is the only one that does not give updates within a week or two, and does not give follow up updates, estimates, or anything. Itis the only manufacture that doesnt return emails or phone calls. Since they are in possession of two of my firearms,a nd wont return them to me, I will have to report them to the ATF.

 

They can make any excuse they want, but it is not good enough. If they are having trouble emailing me, they can try another emailing me from another account, or mailing me, or calling me on the phone. I have a website, they can email me from there.

I hate to complain, but when I get this bad of service, I feel the public needs to know.

We had just moved to a new facility and had not set the shop back up yet. We received a call from this dealer asking about repairing two of his firearms. We advised him we had just move and had not unpacked yet so the shop was not ready to accept repairs. We advised it would be two to three months before we would be able to repair his firearms.

He asked if he could send them in and was willing to wait. We told him he could send them in but that would not speed up the time line in any way. He was fine with waiting and sent the two firearms in for repair. We did receive the repairs in and advised him they were in here in our shop and would let him know when we had enough unpacked and set up that we could work on them.

He emailed and called several times while we were trying to get the facility set up and running again. We kept him up on the progress and he seemed to be fine waiting. The week we had the ability to work on his repairs we called him to go over the issues with the firearms and to let him know we would be working on them. He told the tech he did not want us to repair them and to send them back immediatly.

We sent back his two firearms un-repaired at his request, per our UPS tracking information he has them in his possesion.

I am a licensed firearms dealer and I sent in 2 firearms to Calico light weapons systems which is a federal licensed firearms manufacture for reparis on two of their firearms. I sent them November 7th 2014 via UPS ground and they received them on November 13th, 2014.  It has been over 50 days. and Calico wil not send back my guns or give me any time frame as to when they might get to my firearms and repair them or cost or anything like that.

 

I deal with manufactures on a daily basis, and Calico has the worst customer service ever. Most emails to calico gets ignored. they may return 1 out of 10 emails. They dont answer the phone,and their voicemail is turned off most of the time,and when it is on the mail box is usually full, and if by some miracle you can leave a message, they dont respond to the ones I leave.

I am a federal licensed firearms dealer and I have responsibilities too. If I send in a customers firearm to the manufacture, my custoemr will expect a time frame and cost estimates for repairs. I cant just expect my customers to wait seveal months of unaswered emails and phone calls.

 

I am now escalating this matter to the ATF... All I want is my guns shipped back to me! I am not willing to wait another 50 days, for reparis to be completed.

Every other manufacture I have ever dealet with, updates me with a Estiamted turn around time, and cost estimate within days of sending in a firearms repairs.

At this point I hope the ATF considers revoking their firearms manufacturing license. Imagine if they ahd a recall! IF they cant complete simple repairs withing 2 months, how could they possibly handle a product recall, or warantee repairs.

Calico has excues at evey turn stating  they recently moved. Well if they moved, and they are not set up for repairs and it will be months or years before they will get to repairs due to back logs on gun orders, maybe, just maybe, they should post that on their website, or at the ery leasat told me that before I sent them in for repairs. Calico did respond to my BBB complaint, but still did not mention any time frame as to when to expect my firearms to be repaired.

 

I want my guns shipped back to me! that is all I want. I have lost any confidence in Calico light weapons systems in doing anything, een as simple as shipping back my fireerms!

 

I would be very cautious buying anything from Calico light weapons systems, becasue of very poor communication, not answering emails and phone callls in a timely manner, very poor almost non existant customer support. I wonder what would happen if I sent a firearm in for warantee repair? I wonder how long that would take? If it takes over 50 days for repairs sent in, and they havent even looked at it yet, and they cant even tell me when they will get to it, how good coudl their warantee service be? If they dont anser the phone, or emails rarely, how is a customer supposed to get warantee work completed in a reasonable time.

 

I dont like posting these reports. I wish the best for Calico, and I truly hope they can build a good business, customer support, warantee department and repairs, but the way I have been treated, I dont want anything to do with them, and I think they should give up their manufacturing license until they can get their act together, or find another line of work, becasue their current busness model, doesnt work.
