Hello,
On January 28th, 2014, Georgia had a bad snow storm and I had a car accident because of this. It took Cal Cas about a week to get someone to come out and look at my car just to get an estimate. I took it to 2 body shops prior to the appraiser coming out and they wrote up my estimate and I turned them in to Cal Cal. I was told by both that my car was not drivable and it had alot of damage. When the appraiser came out, he did not write on his appraisal everything the other to estimates had. On top of that, They made me drive my undrivable car 20 miles to the body shop were it was going to get repaired. After 2 weeks in the shop, I got my car back and as I was driving home I realized my car was still driving bad. They hadn't fixed everythin correctly. When I got home (the body shop was closing as I got my car) my son and his frien looked over my car and they were showing me were the left front panel was still bent from the wreck and the suspension was still damaaged and that I should never have left with my car. It was still dangerous. My son son got right on the phone a called Cal Cas and talked to Frank and explained the situation. A couple days later my car went vback into the shop and had to wait for the appraiser to go back out and look at my car again...Why.Who in the hell knows why. Anyway. after 3 weeks, and me calling the body shop and the insurance company a bunch of times, i finally get the report today telling me they are not approving the repairs.
Can you expain to me why Cal Cas had my claim for 3 weeks, they failed to call the body shop or send him the paper work, failed to call me or send me anything about my car. They sat on their asses and forgot about me and my car. So now I have no car fixed with no explanation and I am pissed.
One pissed off lady..

Dawn I have an idea what your actual issue is. No matter what YOU may think, the only amount that the insurance company can pay out is whatever the amount is that the insured has paid into. As such, if the insured individual only has minimal coverage, then all you are going to get is the minimal amount that the insured paid for. Let me give you a example.
You get into a wreck and say $50.000 of damage is done. But the insured has only paid for $15000. All the insurance company can pay out is the $15.000. Any money above that has to be claimed from the insured individual in court. There is a assumption out there by the American consumers that a insurance claim means you get EVERYTHING back that is owed from the insurance company. In your case, they paid out as much as they COULD pay, they are NOT going to pay the whole bill. They will only pay what they have to BY LAW. Anything else above that means you have to take the insured to court and get a judgment against them for the amount owed.
Odds are that the insurance company told the mechanic to fix what they could within a certain budget and thats why your car isnt completly repaired.
