One of the worst experiences I have ever had.
With a credit score of above 750, I applied for a car loan which usually takes me 10 minutes over the phone.
I'm 63,established, self employed and was treated like an 18 year old has-been!
They offered me 4.88% for a simple refinanced car loan. Because I was self employed they demanded proof of income...LOL..really...like who the hell are these guys?
This isn't a mortgage loan. I've never been treated this poorly by a financial institution in over 30 years of being self employed!
Pathetic service all the way around!
Here is what I emailed them:
I have refinanced with another financial institution in 5 minutes over the phone.
No proof of income
No hassle
No problem getting a credit report like you.
No insulting interest rate that I wouldn't pay for a mortgage.
No asking for repeat information already provided to you.
A personal phone call to me honored to have my business, aka..no phone call back by you or your manager, just an emailed BS response!
And, oh by the way, they knew how to spell my name and called me by the name I actually go by!

FYI...STAY AWAY!!

Nothing New Here

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, July 06, 2015

Being "self employed" is a red flag to lenders because its harder to verify income.  Having a good credit score only reflects the past.  The "now" is do you have the ability to re-pay the loan.  Nothing new here and no ripoff either.

False accusation of a rip-off

AUTHOR: coast - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, July 05, 2015

You received better customer service from a different company but that does not equate to a rip-off.

Last week I saw a flashlight at Lowe's that was twice the price of what I paid in another store. I didn’t consider that a rip-off. It was either overpriced or I simply got a better deal in the hardware store.

In a free enterprise economy merchants have the right to charge whatever they want for their goods and services regardless of what other companies charge.

What was the ripoff?

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Friday, July 03, 2015

The ripoff was trying to charge me two and a half to three times the normal going rate for any credit union in the area.

Current rate is 1.48 to 1.99%, depending on how long you want to refinance up tp 66 mo.

My credit score is nearly perfect. Found out yesterday after I seemlessly refinanced with another credit union it was 812!

I paid 1.48% as apposed to the 4.88 RIPOFF offered to me by this so called establishment!!

Like I said, stay away!!

What is the rip-off?

AUTHOR: coast - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 01, 2015

There is nothing wrong with a potential lender requesting proof of income. You may be dissatisfied with their service but nothing in your complaint supports your claim of a rip-off.

If this is one of the worst experiences you have ever had then life has been good. Act like a 63-year-old instead of whining like a 19-year-old.
