California Sun Centers breached a contract I signed with them. In September 2006, I signed a contract with California Sun Centers. The contract allowed me to freeze my account at any time, if I wasn't tanning regularly. In January 2007, I tried to freeze my account and was told by a representative that I didn't sign up for the membership that would allow me to freeze my account and I would have to speak with someone from the corporate office. The contract clearly states I signed up for the membership that allows me to freeze my account, so I contacted the corporate office, they said they would review the contract and get back to me. No one ever got back to me, and after multiple attempts at contacting them, I still have no response. Meanwhile, California Sun Centers withdraws money out of my checking account each month. Even if I didn't freeze my account, they are only supposed to take out $19.88 each month and this month they withdrew $49.00. California Sun Centers has acted in bad faith and whatever you do, do NOT tan with them! They will rip you off, take your money, and you will never be able to get a hold of them.
When checking their status with the Better Business Bureau, they have an unsatisfactory record. See for yourself:

HOW TO PROPERLY RESOLVE THIS ISSUE

I have some suggestions on how to properly handle this situation... I have personally signed up on a membership with California Sun Centers in the past. On their membership forms they clearly state what your term is and what your payments are. If you just take the time to read what you are signing you will see that their policies are clearly stated. All you need to do to freeze your tanning membership is walk into the salon, as long as you have abided by your contract, fill out a form and your membership will be put on hold within 30 days. To get in contact with California Sun Centers just call the number given at any website or by calling 411 and you will be able to reach a representative. These methods have always worked for me in the past.
