I received a letter today from Riddle & Associates, P.C.(Attorneys and Counselors at Law. They say they are trying to collect a debt for- You guessed it- CAMCO-Capital Acquistion & Mgmt Company. The last date for this supposed account is June of 1991. Since I have never heard of CAMCO and this is over 13 years old it smelt fishy.
Then this law firm says their client is willing to settle for 50% of the 912.79 total and all interest is waived. Yeah, right the interest on a non existent debt better be waived.
I decided to do little research on the client and law firm. I found this site with over 240 similar stories about CAMCO and nothing, not even a story or website for the law firm.
I am letting this be told to warn others this company is now using a law firm to make their claims for them. WATCH OUT!

For anyone interested, the website for CAMCO's legal arm, Jesse L. Riddle PC is:

On their site under "Services" it says that they collect on "accounts up to 3 years old". On their main page they mention receiving 119,000 accounts for collection. I'm guessing those were from CAMCO.
So, now that I've sent CAMCO a Cease and Desist letter, I can go to Riddle's website under Services - and see what I can expect next (number of calls, letters, etc).
