This is some updated info on Camco. I;m an ex-employee.
Camco is trying to go public. They are doping whatever they can to go public. The more negative attention this scam company gets the better.

Just for the record Camco has no legal department, No processing or processing and claims department what's so ever. Law offices and agencys that are going to sue you or forward to an attorney have processing and claims departments.Tony Cash the person who talked of a processing department is in the Norcross, Ga. office of Camco. They are all about 30 collectors in one big room. No departments. Nothing will be processed. No files are being sued. You can not sue something that is out of statute. If they reccomend further action all that means is your account is closed byu that collector and a manager send it to another collector in 60-90 days.
Camco only collects debts from 1980's-1994. You rarely see 1994 most are 1980-'s through 1992.

They can not and will not place anything back on your credit report. Once an account falls off your credit report after 7 years it is against the Fair Credit Reporting Act to put something back on someones credit. Please be aware you do not have to pay these people a penny and NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO YOU OR YOUR CREDIT! Tape the calls people. Get a consumer attorney to take your cases. They will take it for free and get a percentage of what you awarded in court. Also if you do take Camco to court do not settle with them. Take it all the way to court. They are not getting shut down because they are settling all of their suits and trying to stay out of court.

They are predators. There are class action suits against them in several states. They try to con little old ladys out of their checking account info and will drain their bank accounts. They will tell you they will contact all your creditors and tell them you have a bad debt and they will place this back on your credit! These people can not and will not put anything on your credit and they can not have the sherriff come after you. Send a cease and desit letter to the corporate office Attention Jeff Gaarrington who is Camco's joke of a compliance officer and you will recieve no more calls or coraspndance.

Say in the letter to not call you at your home or work or anywhere and do not send you any more letters. You want no more contact with them under Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

You have rights and if they tell you , "This problem is not going away." You tell them, It went away 7 years ago or how ever long and it's going away now. Stand up for your rights. Be smart and don't take any crap from this company.
