John Campbell and his Campbell Media Group is/are con-artists.

They say they are a producer/production company with an affiliation with PBS and their affiliates. This is a lie. He develops an idea for a TV show then reaches out to "sponsors" (typically corporations/small businesses) who's business aligns well with the show. He lures them in with all sorts of lies. He takes their money, and may or may not shoot a horrible "sponsor commercial" that he states will be featured in the programs DVD. This assuages the sponsor just enough so he can spread more lies about when the show will be produced and aired. Which it rarely is.

He also takes advantage of any videographers or crew he may "hire". He lies to them saying he'll get payment to them "immediately" via a check in the mail. It never comes.

There are individuals and businesses littered across the country who have been lied to and taken advantage off.

I encourage anyone considering doing business with him or his company to seriously reconsider. You are taking a major risk. Please don't fall for his lies.

Anyone who uses the well established and feel good brand of PBS as a means to steal money is obviously someone with serious ethical and moral issues.

Looking for John Campbell?

AUTHOR: Paralegal Eagle - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 19, 2013

John Campbell & Campbell Media was/is being sued for a baseball reality show that ended badly, among other things.  If you're looking for addresses other than his post office box, go to the Monroe County Clerk's website & register for the online clerk's system (it's free!) https://gov.propertyinfo.com/NY-Monroe/. After you log-in, search by last name, first for "Campbell John" & pick "court filings."  When the results list comes up, you can sort the filings by date so you see the most recent ones at the top.  (He's John E. Campbell by the way.)

Some of these listings have documents attached.  Open & read the documents and you'll find addresses.  There's a Rome address you may find of particular interest.  While you're there, notice all the court cases; interesting isn't it?  Rochester Community Baseball, Civil Service Employees Association, Mid-Town Athletic Club, Fender.

Or you can just go down to the clerk's office yourself, they can help you.  Or you're sure to find Mr. Campbell following around Tareq Salahi the gubernatorial candidate in Virginia filming his documentary. (I wonder if Mr. Salahi's team did a thorough background check on Mr. Campbell.) And you can also search Mr. Campbell in the NYS Court website case database: http://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/webcivilLocal/LCSearch (free).  Some interesting finds in Rochester City court and Plattsburgh City court, but you're likely to meet dead-ends there.  Good luck!

P.S. Another note: this website lists the same Rome address as one of the Monroe County court documents: http://start.cortera.com/company/research/l5l0mzr4n/campbell-media-group/.  All these items I've provided are a matter of public record.

John Campbell is a bucket of slime

AUTHOR: heidihoooooo - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 19, 2013

I have no problem saying it. He was supposed to pay me for work done and continuously held me on the hook, suggesting the check was in the mail. I finally threatened legal action, which led Mr. Campbell to threaten me through text message which I would have no problem showing in a courtroom, so please bring a lawsuit against me for slander, you jacka**.

I would have brought suit myself if Mr. Campbell had a street address instead of the PO box that was available on his website. Unfortunately one cannot file in small claims courts in Rochester without a street address.

Any videographer would be well advised to stay away from this seriously malicious individual.

Addresses

AUTHOR: Disappointed 2012 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, December 17, 2012

My father has informed me that he has e-mailed the 3 address you requested to both your office and to Mr. Campbell's personal e-mail address. What a wonderful surprise Christmas present this would be to the family of the deceased PHS. I know myself and my father will enjoy hearing his voice again. These men were like family to me. I try to make as many meetings as I can and never miss the Dec 7th ceremony. I can remember attending back in the 80's when there were 50 to 60 in attendance. This year there were only 2 members. This is a very good thing your client has decided to do. We look forward to printing a follow up statement in the near future.

Thank You

Interviews

AUTHOR: Disappointed 2012 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, December 16, 2012

Thank you again for your quick response. I have forwarded this information on to my father. He will contact you with the mailing addresses. I too would love a copy since the other 2 interviews were done after his horrible fall down a flight of stairs in 2010. His last interview was by the host of Unsolved History on the military channel this past July in Honolulu, Hawaii. My father will be able to provide the other Pearl Harbor survivors address and phone number.

As I stated previously, I will happily post to this site a thank you to Mr. Campbell after receipt of the videos to the addresses provided. I am very thankful for your response. We all look forward to seeing this footage. I can honestly say, the productions I have viewed by Mr. Campbell are of high quality. I'm sure these interviews are no different. Thank you to your firm for expiditing this transaction. You should have a response from my father in the morning.

Thank you again and God Bless

Thank you for your response.

My client lives in Rochester. You were misinformed (not that it maters where he lives).

It would be an honor to provide you, via USPS, with a copy of the interview of your father. Please email me directly with your address to make sure I have it correct. Also, let me know if your father wants a copy sent to him as well. If so, we'll need his address too.

Have a wonderful holiday.

Attorney Contact Info

AUTHOR: Disappointed 2012 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, December 15, 2012

Thank you for responding so quickly on behalf of your client. As was mentioned in the previous post, we did not ask for this to go into "production." We offered Mr. Campbell compensation on more that one occasion. It was his desire to approach the Chapter 7 PHSA to pursue a PBS program. At no time did we ask for this. To shelve a project with survivors passing by the numbers and cease contact with anyone in the organization was absurd. A simple sign of gratitude would have been to honor the two men with the footage taken. As for other interviews, we had the best showing in years Dec. 7th, 2009 due to the minutes taken and posted to the PHSA news letter. We had survivors who came from great distances to be a part of the "production" that offered by Campbell Media Group. There would have been eight more interviews to add to the other two captured. I spent the morning apologizing to those who didn't get interviewed. I never understood your clients anger as it was us who were put out.
My relationship with Mr. Campbell on this project was strictly business. Our last contact via telephone when Mr. Campbell was in Spring of 2010 when he ended the call abruptly. The only contact with Mr. Campbell after this took place in e-mails forwarded from a mutual friend, and text. These e-mails didn't take place until February 1, 2011 11:07:09 PM EST. I am sorry that your client does not remember the time line correctly. I would be happy to provide the mentioned correspondence to back up my statements. I also have received recent correspondence from this individuals brother concerning me although Mr. Campbell and I have had no contact since Spring of 2010.
The sight of only 2 PHS at this years meeting prompted me to post this. I don't feel as I have "aired personal or dirty laundry." I have never personally attacked your client in person or through any other form of communication. I am in Central New York four to five times a year and would be happy to drop by your offices and produce documents I have mentioned including e-mails, PHSA minutes and Quarterly News Letter.
I am pleased to hear that your client has had a change of heart as I have prayed for him on numerous occasions. I am also pleased that you conduct your business from the Christian perspective. Your blessings will be multiplied.
I recently ran into one of Mr. Campbell's relatives. No mention of any of our dealings took place. I was informed that he now resides in our hometown, minutes from my father. He may feel free to contact my father at anytime and simply drop off said footage. He still lives in the same house, 10 doors down from where Mr. Campbell resided as a child.
You or one of your staff members may contact me at any time. Mr. Campbell can provide you with that information. Please send me an address of your firm as I will be flying into Rochester in February. If you are in Rome, even better. I look forward to hearing from you.
I will add a statement to this site thanking Mr. Campbell once he has followed through with his offer to rectify the situation. Sadly, the family member who asked for the video was killed in a motorcycle accident 2 days before his father died. His wife had to bury her son, then her husband. Mr. Campbell has their name and can verify this for your law firm.
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Blessing to you and your staff this Holiday Season.

WWII program

AUTHOR: CMG Legal Team - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, December 14, 2012

Mr. Puccio.

Hundreds of thousands of television shows or feature films are in one stage of production or another, at any given time. The majority of these projects never come to fruition due to lack of funding. Unlike the movie janitorial business or "we buy your gold for top dollar" companies, producing any type of program or film is a risk on the part of the production company.

A good amount of time was taken on securing two different interviews in Rome, New York that one afternoon you mention. One interview was with your father, a true American hero. We had heard that the other gentleman had passed away, and were saddened by that. But at no time were we contacted by his family for a copy of his interview. We would be honored to provide that footage to his family. It was a very emotional piece - everybody within earshot was in tears. It's also important to note that the other gentlemen that you speak of NEVER gave us authorization to interview them. Two were very specific when they declined our offer. We were not about to push them into something they didn't want to do. That's a very personal decision.

Regarding your father: please email me directly with a request for his intervew so we can burn it to DVD and mail it out this coming week. My client has provided me with your Woodstock, Georgia address. James.PetersonEsq@yahoo.com

TEARS IN THE PACIFIC is still on our production wish list, alongside dozens of other great stories that need to be told. Unfortunately, as passionate as we may feel about a project, if there isn't a revenue source attached to it, then it sits on the shelf until a sponsor shows interest. As in all programming, it was, and will be again if possible, offered to a variety of media outlets. It's an important story.

Please keep in mind that there were more interviews conducted over several weeks after the ones captured in Rome. We needed to include additional interviews due to the lack of response from the CNY gentlemen. Two interviews doesn't a one hour show make. There are many other powerful stories from men and women who were at Pearl Harbor that fateful day.

In regard to the program moving forward or not. My client was correct in saying that it was his decision to move forward with the project or not. You had absolutely no authorization to make that decision. On the other hand, if your father would rather not be part of a future program, we will absolutely honor his wishes, even though we were given a video release/authorization to use his interview.

I understand that you are a former childhood friend of Johns. I won't address the personal side of this, because as you know Mr. Puccio, there are two sides to every story and situation and this isn't a forum to air personal, dirty laundry. I will simply say that you know exactly why my client hung up on you. This is not the forum to get into that. It wouldn't be the Christian thing to do.

You have my email address and you know how to get a hold of my client. I will caution you when it comes to posting inaccurate information and/or slanderous comments about my client. We are in the midst of a legal situation regarding several slanderous postings, and wound rather not include you in the litigation. Of course, that is your choice.

God Bless Mr. Puccio.

Pearl Harbor (Video) "Bombed"

AUTHOR: Disappointed 2012 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, December 14, 2012

I contacted Campbell Media Group summer of 2009 and spoke directly to John Campbell regarding recording a video history of my father. I asked Mr. Campbell to quote me a price. His response was "It would be and honor" and "no charge." "We can do an entire PBS program around the PHSA Chapter 7 group and get all their stories recorded." I explained that I really wanted to pay to get a professional documentary of my fathers heroic story of Dec. 7th. He insisted on doing the PBS program. I explained that it wasn't up to me and that I would explain it to the survivors and let them decide. I made a few calls and they asked me to invite Mr. Campbell to the next meeting. He came and discussed all the wonderful things Campbell Media was going to do to make a great documentary. He proceeded to hand out "Americas Team" to all the survivors present, a documentary he had done several years earlier. He explained that it would be the same quality and that he would interview all available survivors in the chapter. At the time, there were about 15.

He came to one event and interviewed my Father and another survivor who had been in 17 engagements aboard ship and was convinced to speak about it for the first time ever. Those were the only 2 interviews given. Mr. Campbell was supposed to come back Dec. 7th 2009 to conduct more interviews but never showed. I contacted Mr. Campbel after several months to let him know that 3 of the survivors from chapter 7 had passed away and those stories were gone forever. I ask him to just forget about the project and requested to purchase the footage he had on the 2 survivors. He responded very angrily "I'll decide whether or not this project goes forward." I told him we no longer needed his services and asked one more time to purchase the footage. He replied, "No, And don't ever contact me again" and hung up.

In the year and a half thats past several more survivors have passed including the gentleman who was in 17 engagements. i don't know if Mr. Campbell knew what he had his hands on. An opportunity to record living history. As for my father, we contacted a professional videographer and had his story recorded. He has recently recieved medals for his heroics on Dec. 7th, 1941 and was flown to Hawaii all expenses paid to be honored this past summer.

The teaser is on Mr. Campbell's website called "TEARS IN THE PACIFIC" It never happened. I feel that its deceiving to have this in his portfolio when it never came to fruition. There were only 2 survivors who attended this year and so many more who have passed or have some form of dementia. Those stories are lost, gone for ever.

This wasn't a concert where the sound was missing from the footage. It wasn't a videographer who's wages weren't paid. It wasn't businesses who were taken by phony promisses as stated by the previous complaints above. It was America's greatest generation ignored. The title Mr. Campbell came up with was due to the many tears the individual cried while trying to get his story out for the first, and according to his family, the only time. Mr. Campbell's visit and the promises made are all clearly documented in the Chapters Secretaries minutes and was also mentioned in the following news letter.

I hope Mr. Campbell can find it in his heart to get the footage of the deceased survivor to his remaining family. If so, I would be happy to update that information on this post. Until then, I remain disappointed.

I too would like the Campbell Media Groups legal teams contact info. I am very eager to talk to them and find it extremely hard to believe that any reputable legal team would post such a response on their clients behalf. There are many victims who look forward to this information. I personally smell more lies.

I just got an notification I have set up in Google Alerts.  I'm sorry sir, this is a very childish and unprofessional response to a grievance that ANY legal council could possibly give.  In reality, defamation and slander are present ONLY if the defendant can prove that the statements are not true.  That will need to be settled in your court case.

I understand your quickness though to jump to your clients aide, but shame on you for lowering yourself to the level of your client's accuser.  I hope your bedside manner is more professional in court for your client's sake.

This is a very unprofessional response from a legal council.   I too have unfortunately had dealings with Mr. Campbell.  This item and link came up in my Google Alerts when it was posted earlier today.  I would not have dreamed that Mr. Campbell would be in this much trouble.  Is Duke Jupiter also on the bill for slander for their comments made about the business?  I would be interested to see how many people have had a grievance against Mr. Campbell.  Does anyone out there know if there is a list started of involved people?  What law firm do you represent so that I may contact you with my concerns and questions?

Campbell Media Group

AUTHOR: CMG Legal Team - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, October 20, 2012

The internet can be a wonderful tool, but can also be a dangerous place for those with with a grudge against a certain individual. This venue gives people the opportunity to slander an individual or business without facts. The fact is that I represent Campbell Media Group, a television production company that has been producing award winning television programming going on 13 years. Unfortunately a disgrunteled freelance "videographer" - aka, can't hold a job with a real production company (with zero long form experience) has a vendetta against Mr. Campbell and his business because his work was less than acceptable. The same individual made several thousand dollars from Campbell Media Group for work that was barely acceptable (a YEAR ago).

Campbell Media Group is in busienss to lose money. Having to have four days of filming done over 100%, cost the company over $18,000. The unprofessional "videographer" that filed this childish, temper tantrum report is angry that Campbell Media Group isn't using the poor quality footage and compensating him for that footage. The amount in question is $5,000. Paying this freelance videographer would simply tell him that blackmail is acceptable. This individual is now under investigation for harassment of my client and a well documented stream of slanderous emails and telephone calls to my clients customers, sponsors, television stations and anyone else this person can convince to listen to him.

Note that we never published his name here, as that would be unethical. We won't stoop as low as this person. We are, however, filing a seven figure lawsuit against this "freelance" videographer and a television station that he has convinced to slander Campbell Media Group as well. We are also filing harassment charges and securing an order of protection against him. This person is dangerous, in many ways.
