In August, I received a phone call from Glen at Marketing for Sunset Group, advertising a trip to Cancun. After about half an hour of discussion and looking at their web site while I had him on the phone, I paid $498.00 on my credit card, for a vacation to cancun, spots in florida , and was told I could upgrade to a cruise vs Florida, for a fee, and so on. I was told that I had 18 months to travel. I called in late December to book a vacation for March 2008. The first time I called, it rang and went to a very fuzzy answering machine for 'my cancun getaway'. I was not able to leave a message so I called back 2 minutes later, to find the phone number was no longer in service!!! Then I checked, and the email address, and web site on my confirmation letter not in service either. I then looked up Laguna Suites hotel on the internet. The web site is very vague and not informative at all. So, I called Laguna Suites in MX to find they answer the phone 'hello' as if it were a residence. She said she was familiar with Sunset Group, and my cancun getaway, and said they had a different number. She gave me another # to call. I have not called this other number as I feel it will be a dead end, not to mention, I am nervous travelling with bookings through this company, regardless of any arrangements that they MAY make. I would hate to get there and find out that I had no accommodations for me and my small children. Note that on my call display, the original call in August came from a Michigan number, not a Mexico number as he stated! Their website mycancumgetaway.com does not exist anymore! I recall the man's persistence at what a great deal this was, and now am convinced that it was a TOTAL rip-off, and had I not just moved and been exhausted, I probably would have just hung up and not even listened to the speech at all!!!
