I was hired by CTI - Canton Transport Inc. - to haul goods from Florida to  Texas to  Oklahoma to  Georgia back to Florida.  I was told that this was part of a larger operation that had -among other companies - North Canton Transfer and Kenan Advantage.

I was told to take a bus down to Georgia and I would be reimbursed for the cost of the ticket. They operate out of a truck stop at exit 11 in Valdasta, GA. I would receive $850/week for hauling. My medical card was expired and Don - one of the drivers - actually filled out the long form and signed the medical card as a Doctor out of Atlanta, GA.

On the first trip out I had a heart attack in a Texas Truck stop.  One of the other drivers (Don) saw this occur and I was taken away in an ambulance while they were still working on me.

4 days later, after surgery, I called CTI and spoke to dispatcher (Tommy).  My truck with all my belongings had been returned to Georgia.  No one had called the hospital to confirm whether I had pulled through or not.

It took 6 weeks of calling to John - Tommy (Dispatcher) and George (head guy in Valdasta GA) to get some of my belongings back. My radio was not returned - the money in my duffle bag was missing - and a knife I had for protection was also missing.  I have not received any wages nor have I been reimbursed for my bus ticket.  Since I was on the job, I tried to file for Workman's Comp to cover the medical - nothing is available.

I checked with the DOT - their DOT # has been pulled the year before.  I called to try and get a physical address - I was advised that their PO Box was in Florida  (Daytona Beach) and any correpondence was to be sent via Fax or to the PO Box.

When my belongings finally came (missing the more valuable items) the name on the box was John Kocis - CTI  (Coastline Transportation Inc) at a different addres from the original filing of the DOT and the other submissions on this company - however the phone number remains the same throughoout all entries.

Do not consider working for this company unless you have no wish to be paid.
