I was contacted in March by a telemarketer who stated that due to my good standing credit with my bank, I had been chosen to receive a travel package. I told him repeatedly that I was not interested, but finally gave in. I was told that I would receive my package in the mail in a few days, and that once I received the package I would have 2 weeks to cancel it without any charges. I never received ANYTHING in the mail.

About 2 weeks later I checked my bank account and it had been overdrawn. I looked online to see where I'd made my mistake and there was a $59.95 electronic withdrawl with a phone #. I called the number and it was Capital Vacations. Somehow after being transferred repeatedly to different people, someone told me that when you call the 888 # you press the pound (#) key twice and it will send you to a representative. I did this and spoke with a "supervisor". They cancelled my membership, and gave me an address. The supervisor told me to send a letter to the address stating that I had cancelled my account and wanted my money refunded. He told me that once they received my letter, my money would be refunded in 6 business days. I sent the letter off the next day. It's been over a month and my money has still not been refunded.

I just found the address again, and I will be sending them ANOTHER letter. I will also be reporting them to the BBB. I gave them a chance to redeem themselves, but enough is enough.

I was lucky though. After I agreed to get this package, the guy told me that I would also be receiving long distance stuff and something else in the mail. I told him "NO WAY". Because of that I was only charged the $59.95. These people are scam artists and they will not get away with it.
