My wife lost her job and couldn't find work, so our bills got behind for awhile. I so this offer come in the mail from Providian National Bank (now selling it off to another bank in Omaha) 14.99% to rebuild your credit. So, I applied and got accepted.
In 6 months or so they raised the rate to 19.99%, I called and asked why because I never missed a payment ever(even to this day with them, I had them for 3or 4 years now), they were selling their account to another service was the outcome.
So, I basically maxed out the card after a year and called them in middle of the year. They told me I was a "great customer", and they didn't lose me but I just missed the grace period to lower my rate(it was running from Jan. to June). So, I called back the following year in January and they had no such program. They were very rude on the phone and when I got upset and told them I was going to the Attorney Generals Office, the woman on the phone really never cared. I did file a report but never followed up on it.
So, guess what I got another letter stating that they were selling all their accounts again and the rates were going to be 29.99%.(and have been paying that). It doesnt end I just got another letter from them stating that they are selling their account again and now I have to pay 31.99%.

I had these bloodsuckers card for about a year. They kept doing the same crap to me. Its obvious your credit has a few nicks thats why you went with them (we did too). Change your phone number, cancel the card and if your filing CHptr 7 put them down first.
They are the biggest A%^holes there are other cards out there you should be able to get by now since you have a good recorde with them. GOod LUck
