I am embarassed I allowed myself to get suckered by these thieves. I broke a common consumer rule: Never give out information to a company soliciting your business via spam email.
However, my better judgement got the best of me.
I received an email offering a Visa card. Emerging from Bankruptcy, this was a welcome thing. There was no mention of oversized fees, high interests, etc.. I figured I could fill out an application, and see where it took me. Mistake #1.
I filled out the lengthy information form. It asked if I had a checking account. This was a standard question. It asked me to provide the account number. I did. Mistake #2.
As I trudged through the process, I finally reached some terms. It realized I was applying for a *SECURED* credit card, which means I had to SEND THEM $$ and they would send me a card with a VISA logo. I would be spending my own money but filtering it through THEM. I stopped filing the application at that point and didn't finish it. I never authorized any charges. Mistake #3. I assumed the application would be dumped. Not with this company.
2 days alter, I see my checking account has been docked $169.00, with the billing entity "CARDSUPPORTSITE." There was a phone # included, (866) 883-4980. I'd never authorized this charge. I called this phone #.
After going through the typical nonsense, I was finally connected to a gentleman. I told him I did not authorize a $169.00 charge to my account and wanted it replaced immediately. He suggested I HAD by filling out an application online. I said I filled out a PARTIAL, but did not complete it when I realized it was a secured card.
I asked for a manager. He asked for my checking account # to verify and "look up my information." I said "You took money from my checking account, and want me to provide it again?" I offered the ID: referenced on the withdrawal. He said that would not help. I realized they had my checking # already, since my $ was taken, so I gave it to them, with plans to close this checking account.
He said I had filled out an application, and the charge was not fraud as I claimed. I begged to differ. I asked how long before my $$ would be returned, and may I speak with a supervisor. He couldn't name a supervisor. I asked again. May I have a name of a supervisor. Again, evasiveness.
Getting annoyed, I asked yet AGAIN. He blurted out " JoAnne." I asked where their office was located. Silence. Again, I asked. Quietly, he said "Santa Monica," however another report filer documented this company as being located in Hollywood on Santa Monica blvd., an entirely different city. He lied to me.
I insisted my money be returned, and waiting 4-6 weeks was unacceptable. My rent was coming due. I needed that $169.00.
I was told to go to their web site, cardsupportsite.com He said it would take 4-6 weeks after I filled out a "Refund Form," which I can get msyelf online.
BEWARE THIS FORM! DO NOT FILL IT OUT!
This form requires:
1. Your full name
2. social security #
3. Your fraudulent "Order ID Number" 4. Your phone #.
(basically, they want all the info needed to permanently steal you financial ID)
It states a 90 day turnaround and an "Application Fee" of $59.00. THIS IS ABSURD. DO NOT SETTLE WITH THIS. THEY ARE GOING TO KEEP $59.00 IN ORDER TO REFUND **YOUR** $169.00. THIS IS THIEVERY! What "application fee" is there? They take you money. They don't want to give it back. They give you the run around! They do not need to be "rewarded" by keeping $59.00 of YOUR money.
Lastly, it claims:
"By accepting this refund, you are releasing Card Support and any of its related affiliates from any and all financial liability."
HUH? NO WAY!! They rip you off, then expect you to not pursue this further? No sir! I want to see this company dismantled and destroyed, AFTER it returns all of our money. They exploit people suffering financial hardship. They steal money. They attempt to evade when called on this.
This company deserves a class action lawsuit. Clearly, based on testimonies here at Rip-Off Report, they do this on an ongoing basis. What kind of soulless creep works for this kind of company?
Beware "cardsupportsite.com." Thieves. And, for me, another lesson about SPAM. Never fill it out. NEVER give any personal info such as checking account info. And, protect your social security # with your financial life.
I knew this, and still got suckered. Learn from our mistakes!

Dear Mark,
If this statement is true -
"I stopped filing the application at that point and didn't finish it."
Please contact your local police department for fraud and fax us the copy of the police report so the person responsible for this application can be held responsible. All applications have recorded time and IP address from the PC used to join and we will fully work with any law enforcement agency to track down any fraudulent activity.
One other thing I would like to point out is you state no where was it listed that you would be billed, but as you can see if you go to the site you do not have to enter no personal information and you are able to click on the terms and read all about the card and fee's to be charged as well as the charge being listed on the join page you entered your checking account information.
Regarding your refund and the application fee, the fee is clearly listed before you submit the application, and I do apologize but the application fee is a nonrefundable fee as stated on the terms. You can fax in a refund form providing you are within the time allowed and we will refund the processing fee and opening balance.
