Myself and a friend attended the CAREI - The Colorado Association of Real Estate Investors. The door fee is $20 a person. William Bronchick started the meeting asking people to upgrade a get a year of club membership at $300. After you buy that your offered coaching. I suspect William uses this club as a means to sell his product. After his initial pitch few maybe 3 to 5 stand up with some mediocre deals. After this the guest speaker was Richard Roop.
The topic was "Closing High Profit Deals With Unmotivated Sellers". I was under the impression that this was an information only event. After 2 hours of listening to this boring speaker, who relies heavily on notes. Where pitched a $997 course, websites, and coaching. If I knew this was a webinar like event. I can attend that for free and not waste drive time and $20. Normally a hotel pitch fest is free also, but you know ahead of time from the T.V. infomercial. I was doing a like research on Richard Roop from 350 N. Pine St. Woodland Park, CO 80863 .
For a person that is suppose to be doing a bunch of deals. He's had the same 8 properties on their for two months based on Google cache. If you like mailing 1400 postcards to homeowners and get 4-5 calls. Richard Roop is your guy. Try mailing to absentee owners in Florida (s****.>

This guy does not get it

I think this person misses the value of local real estate investor meetings. It started with networking and other members presenting deals they had to share. I was the quest speaker and gave out as much valuable investing advice as I could during my limited time. I am not a pitch man yet I had some of the best feedback ever from attendees. I have supported CAREI for over 10 years. I am bewildered by the complaint. Guess there is one in every crowd.

I'd just like to give thanks for all of the FREE advice articles and YouTube videos related to real estate investment strategies.
I hope you continue to educate the masses who are interested in becoming better RE Investors. You should make some profit from the knowledge you provide, because it has value to those who can learn from it and be successful.
Your rates are quite affordable for anyone who is serious about investing. As a college student, I see it as the consumer paying for a quality educational curriculum at an exceptional value.
Thanks for all of your hard work and sharing of your knowledge. The Real Estate recovery starts with education and ethics.

Having been a member of the organization for over 10 years, I know that the staff puts a lot of time and effort into who presents at the meetings. Richard Roop is a reputable expert who has been in business for many years in Colorado. I was at the
meeting in question and he presented for 2 hours and 15 mins, about 10 minutes of which was offering his product sale. He gave a tremendous amount of valuable information and the feedback I witnessed was very positive. I suppose you cant please everyone.
Ive been a businessman for over 30 years, and I imagine that this organization spends literally thousands of dollars a month on overhead, staff, advertising, hotels, etc - all to cater to the needs and betterment of both the new and experienced investors. Although they don't make a big deal about it, they donate tens of thousands of dollars a year to the less fortunate. The Denver Rescue Mission, among others, are the beneficiaries of this generosity.
Those of you checking out this site - please don't let one "dissatisfied apple" spoil your opinion of this fine organization. Come check it out for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

Well, one great thing about our Country is that you are free to say whatever you like on the Internet, no matter how misguided.
Colorado Association of Real Estate Investors has been in business since 1994 and has an A+ Better Business Bureau rating. We've had zero complaints, zero lawsuits, zero refunds of membership.
Once or twice a year, we have a speaker who sells a product. To be exact, Richard Roop was the second speaker in 23 months.
I expect this person (who is not Walter S, we have no such record of him attending a meeting), thinks that all events should be free and nobody should sell anything. I also suppose he'd also like to chip in to pay our office, our employees and the hotel every month.
We'd be happy to refund "Walter" his $20 door fee. But I expect that wouldn't be enough.
