I was hired by this company lured by the "$2,500.00 guranteed" ad that I saw in a newspaper. I applied for the sales consultant position (although this is the only position available but Eddie Valeriano, Carico's employee, told me that there were varios openings), and I was told that in order for us to get the $2,500.00 a month we would need to make 60 presentations in a month.

We were told no to worry because they will help us find "leads" if we run out of friends and families to present the products to. There were three of us that were hired at the same time and trained under Eddie Valeriano. We were told that he would match our first "sale" that friday that we graduated from the training. I wasn't able to make any sale over the weekend but monday morning, Eddie reiterated that he will match out first sale and give whatever it is to us.

Monday night Eddie came with me to my house and assisted my in selling to my mom products over $2000.00. The next morning I asked him when he will give me the same products that my mom bought. He then said that only sales made with in the past weekend he will match. There were three of us in that office that heard him say that he will match our first sales and never said that only sales from weekend after our graduation. During the training, we were trained to say that "aluminum causes Alzheimer's disease" and it is unclean that is why it is banned in Europe.

We were also taught some other high-pressure and scare tactics for the purpose of inducing them to purchase expensive pots and pans and other products. A week before the month that I started working, I had about 50 presentations but I was told that I only have 40 because they said that group presentations, although all of them buys, is only considered as one presentation. I talked to the company's vice president and he told me that if I'm presenting to a group of four and all of them bought something, that will be considered as 4 presentations.

I went back to Eddie valeriano and he then said that he talked to the president and he said that group presentations are considred 1 presentation even if all members of the group bought something so I went to the president and that's what he told me. I quit complaining about that and I asked Eddie Valeriano to give me some leads because he told us during training that he would give us leads. He then denies saying that and didn't even train us on using their telemarketing machine which was also promised that we could use to look for leads.

During that period. I sold cutlery sets to my brother who has bad credit so I cosinged for him. Eddie told me that I can't cosign for my brother because I'm an employee and I would have to wait for my brother to make 3 payments before I can get my commission from that sale. I'm not too sure but I believe We changed the contract for my brother's sale so that he will be the only one on the contract. My brother never made any payments and the account was transfered to the collection agency. The collection agency has my name on my account although I was told by Eddie Valeriano that my name will be taken off the account. That infact was true because if my name was on the account, then I wouldn't have to wait for my brother to make3 payments in order for me to get my commission because I have excellent credit.

SO Eddie Valeriano told me that if I return the products, everything will be ok and the account will be closed. I asked Eddie if I return the products, will the account be taken off collection and my name will be cleared, and Eddie told me yes. A week after I returned the products, I called Carico's account department and I was told that the account is still being handled by collections. I contacted the collection agency and they informed me that it was a write off and it will stay on my credit for 7 years.

I've notice that there is a complain already for Royal Prestiege, a very similar company as Carico and there was a case againts that company from another state regarding that "scare tactics" that they used. My mom wants to return the products that she bought and so does my cousin. Carico company is also targeting the Hispanic and the Filipino communites. I saw from http://caag.state.ca.us/newsalerts/1999/99-020.htm that there was a suit againts royal prestiege and I'm not to sure how to do the same againts Carico and I have no knowledge regarding these issues.

I know who eddie valeriano is, I believe he was on the demonstration video. And from what I saw I wouldn't trust him with a box of crayons. I'm sorry you were trained by such a poor manager. I would have never went further than the 2nd interview If I had met the man, i don't know why you did.

Your title should read "Manager Eddie Valeriano of Carico ripoff dishonest cheated employees and screwed me"

Just to let you know, Carico is a member of the Better Business Bureau, and the Direct Selling Association.

And just to let you know, I'm an ex-employee and I worked last summer for them, in LA. I did poorly considering Carico's average, but i still made more than If I had worked 50 hours a week at 14$/hr. I ultimately didnt rejoin the next summer because I did not think of myself as a good salesman. I had a different manager.

"I was hired by this company lured by the "$2,500.00 guranteed" ad that I saw in a newspaper" -quote you
don't believe everything you read in the newspaper, kiddo. this may be eddie's doing or one of his employees, but it's your fault for being THAT gullible.

"I applied for the sales consultant position (although this is the only position available but Eddie Valeriano, Carico's employee, told me that there were varios openings)," - quote you
There are always various openings because carico is relatively new to the United States. 8 years. Previously it did well in the Spanish markets(africa, south america, mexico, europe). Im sorry you werent qualified or lasted long enough for other openings such as DVM, or even SM.

"We were told no to worry because they will help us find "leads" if we run out of friends and families to present the products to."-quote you
they helped me find leads, were you expecting them to give you prospects when you didnt make a single sale? as a former employee I can tell you didnt follow the program at all. you didnt get any referrals, and that was your responsibility.

"There were three of us that were hired at the same time and trained under Eddie Valeriano. We were told that he would match our first "sale" that friday that we graduated from the training. Most likely, Eddie made the sale. You did not. a $2,000 sale is a VERY good sale and I doubt you had the skill to do it.

"During the training, we were trained to say that "aluminum causes Alzheimer's disease" and it is unclean that is why it is banned in Europe. " -quote you
That's true. The reason why Aluminum-Alzheimer link is surpressed in America is because the government decided it was an acceptable loss. we're talking HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of dollars in GDP if aluminum in cookware and storage containers was banned in the US. And Aluminum IS banned in europe because it has been linked to Alzheimers. Im sorry you never knew this fact before.

"We were also taught some other high-pressure and scare tactics for the purpose of inducing them to purchase expensive pots and pans and other products. " -quote you The VP? LOL yeah right you talked to the VP. why would the vice president talk to a one month old sales consultant? Do you know how big Carico is? it manufactures its own products, has customer/employee services, is associated with BBB and DSA, and has been around for 37 years. Who the hell would give you the VP's number.

" quit complaining about that and I asked Eddie Valeriano to give me some leads because he told us during training that he would give us leads" -quote you
No. earlier you said "he helped". which is exactly what my manager did. Giving and Helping are two different things.

"telemarketing machine"
2002 the year of the future. telemarketing machines.... wow.

"During that period. I sold cutlery sets to my brother who has bad credit so I cosinged for him. yes write offs stay on your credit for 7 years. blame your brother. your the dumbass that signed for your bad credit brother. and atleast once eddie was right. Dont co-sign for customers, because apparently you dont know what happens when you co-sign.

Royal prestiege and carico are two completely different companies. I suppose if Sears had a complaint, MACY*s would be liable too?

"My mom wants to return the products that she bought and so does my cousin."
ROTFLOL. stfu. lol@you... i wonder why YOUR family wants to return the stuff now... Anyways there was never a refund policy and most US retail businesses do not offer refunds. Carico on the other hand has an excellent lifetime warranty on most products, unlike most retail businesses. maybe you should have bought inferior housewares at target or walmart.
