In July, 2000, Carl Black Ford Service Center in Summerville, GA. diagnosed my Ford Taurus SHO as having a defective EDIS MODULE. The EDIS Module controls the ability of vehicle engine to run.
According to Ford, this part is no longer available and is not being manufactured at this time. The car was diagnosed while under warranty. The vehicle has not been drivable since July of 2000.
I have continued to make monthly payments on the vehicle. I contacted Ford and advised them of the problem. Carl Black Ford and Forest Cate Ford have each notified Ford Motor Co of the problem also. Ford cannot repair the car and will not buy it back from me for a reasonable price.
I have continued to keep the car insured and was forced to buy another vehicle to drive while waiting for Ford to do something. Forest Cate, owner of Forest Cate Ford in Lafayette GA informed me there were over 400 of the Taurus SHO's across the United States parked with the same problem.
I have never heard of a problem like mine where a part is not even being manufactured and was shocked when Ford did not stand behind their product.
