Carleton Sheet's Real Estate Products ripoff and deceitful Burr Ridge Illinois

WE called to inquire about purchasing the program advertized on T.V. for $9.95 and were told that we had 30 days to view the program and decide to keep it or return it. If after our trial period we did want to keep the material we would be billed three payments of $50.00.

OK, that adds up to $150.00 right? We sent the material home with our daughter to check it out and didn't get it back in the 30 days. In the mean time, we had started receiving bills for $500.00!!!I called the company and told them we were sending it back, that we believed they used deceitful practices and that we were NEVER quoted a price of $500.00!!

Before I got the box to the post office we received another bill for $500.00. I taped up the box with all materials enclosed and unopened (except for the one tape we had paid $9.95 for) and mailed back to Carleton sheets with the inventory list checked off, and noted that all material was un-used and un-opened.
We just received a letter telling us that because we didn't return the material within the 30 day trial period they will continue billing us (EVEN though they have all the material returned to them un-opened!) They did offer to send it back to us at their cost. How big of them.

We got into this out of curiosity, we didn't know if it was something we would be interested in or not but thought it would be worth spending $9.95 to find out. WHAT a ripoff!! I will be notifying the Better Business Bureau and doing whatever I have to to rectify this situation. I have never been so outraged in my life! I could understand if we had to pay the $150.00 that we were quoted, because we didn't return the materials in the 30 day period.

But where did this $500.00 amount come from and how can they get away with this?
