This happened to us back in 2000 and continues to this day. We ordered a set of encyclopedias which never arrived. I made a few good faith payments and waited and waited for my product which never came, so I stopped making payments. I think I only made 2 if I remember correctly. Recently, that past couple of years, Carmel Financial Corporation has gotten a judgement against us and is now garnishing my wifes wages. To make matters worse, the initial cost of the enyclopedias, which we never received, what about $2900, and they have taken out over $4000 and continue to take and take. It seems like that garnish for about 6 months and then stop only to start up again after about 6 months to let interest build up on the account. We have asked them to produce a signature for the deilvery of the product and they can't or refuse to do so. I would like all the money they have taken returned to me and my family. We sought to have the case reopened in the courts but were told that it has been ruled upon and there is nothing we can do about it.
Again, WE NEVER RECEIVED OUR PRODUCT AND THEY CAN'T OR REFUSE TO PRODUCE A SIGNATURE FOR RECEIPT OF THE PRODUCT AND YET CONTINUE TO TAKE MONEY FROM US. SOMEONE HELP US!!!!! PLEASE!!! This corporation is dirty and coniving, at its base. They rip off the american public and the continue to do so from other reports I have read. PLEASE PLEASE HELP US!!!!!!

Mis-Judgement

The fact that they have a judgement is not uncommon, however in this case, we did go to court on the day specified and found that it was put in front of the Judge a day earlier without notifying us. If we had been notified we would have been there a day earlier and fought for our rights in the case. We were told that in order to appeal, we need to get our own lawyer and have the case reopened. The problem there is the lack of funds to do so, since they are taking the money anyway. The big issue still remains that this seems like it will be a never ending thing. They take money for about 6 months and then stop, only to start up again 6 months later after interest has built up again. At this rate it is a never ending process. I thought there were limits on this sort of thing. Either way we still need help to resolve the matter.

Did you not go to court when you received your summons ?? You had the perfect opportunity to settle the matter THEN !! The burden of proof was on THEM at that time to PROVE that you actually owed the money. But, apparrently, you had better things to do that day, huh ? You can only blame yourself for what is happening now.
