Carol Wright Gifts Catalog discriptions misleading and order messed up Edison New Jersey

Had heard of Carol Wright gifts for years. Started getting a catalog after a friend bought me a fleece robe from there.

Decided to order some items.

2 pair of "solar curtains" that say you can see out, others can't see in. Showed them looking like white, pleated drapes.

1 bathroom toilet cleaner, a "stone" on a stick that said it removes built on lime and hard water stains

3 pair of reading glasses (set)

2 bras (it said "as low as $7.50" turned out you have to buy a 2 pack)

I used their online form, putting in catalog number, it brought each up. I had to pick size of window curtains, and put "2" in for quantity. And, pick magnifying strength for reading glasses, from drop down menu. Also size for bras. I remember doing this, and clicking to order.

The shipping had an optional "priority" cost, when UNchecked, it says if you don't pay this, they won't replace items lost in the mail. So, postage and shipping added another $5-something to it.

When I got the copy of the order in my email, it did not have the reading glasses, and had ONE solar curtain, and TWO toilet brushes on a stick.

The price had been adjusted for this.

Overall it has taken around 3 weeks, and I've only gotten part of the order so far.I got the one solar cutrain and the 2 toilet brushes.

The solar curtain is a light aluminum type plastic. When openned it shows crease marks all through it, where it had been folded. Putting it on a window, the room becomes so dark the light has to be on in the daytime. And from the outside it looks terrible. Like someone unfolded a piece of alumunium foil and tacked it on the window. It does NOT look like the white pleated drapes it shows inthe catalog.

It says to put shiny side out in summer and in, in winter, but both sides are shiny.I didn't leave it in my window.

The toilet brush "stones". Are light pumice stones, about 3" by 2" on a stick.

First I don't know how one can clean the toilet, which is curved, with a rigid stone on a handle. I tried using the top of the stone, it didn't take off the lime residue and the stick broke- also the stone shattered falling into the toilet. I had to get the pieces out, so they wouldn't go down the drain and clog the toilet.

I have another stone brush (I didn't want) that is totally useless for anything that I can think of. I tried using it to soften rough skin on my heel (because it looks like a pumice stone) and it didn't do anything.

Both the stone brushes and solar curtain said "made in China" on them.

The bras haven't come yet, so I don't know if they are any good, or usable.

The entire order cost $28 and took (so far)3 weeks to come and (so far) has been useless.

Now I am glad they didn't send the other solar curtain, though they sent and charged me for 2 stone brushes, and the reading glasses, which would have been $5.99 more.

I live on fixed income (Social Security) and feel I have thrown away $28 for nothing. Unless the 2 pack of bras are really good, I can say I paid the money for them. But, going by the part of the order I already got, I don't expect too much from the bras.

I have seen this company's ads for many years. The fleece robe I received as a gift seems nice (though if I tie the ties too tight, I can hear stickes breaking where it's sewn) though it took a very long time to come.

I feel ripped off, like I wasted $28 and very disappointed.

I don't feel it is worth fighting with the company over, like returning the products, IF they give money back if not satisfied. I didn't see anything that said this.

I'm just glad I didn't order more, and wanted to share this to warn others.

I dont know how the company stays in business.
