Consumers beware of Rock Hills CARPET & RUG SUPERSTORE. Their merchandise returns policy is not conducive to customer satisfaction.

In May 2002 we visited Rock Hills CARPET & RUG SUPERSTORE purchasing "Speedy Plus" laminate flooring plus accessories. Within 6 days we attempted to return the merchandise as over 25% was warped, water stained, scratched and just outright sub-quality. These folks had the gall to refuse return of the merchandise unless we agreed and paid a 30% restocking fee. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

We suppose this is why the CARPET & RUG SUPERSTORE claims, all sales are final though they do state, all merchandise is guaranteed as first quality and carry manufacturers warranty. And, try to find the manufacturer good luck, as only the CARPET & RUG SUPERSTORE seems to be privied to what train wreck the merchandise came from.

So, we worked through our credit card company to investigate and the Better Business Bureau. The CARPET & RUG SUPERSTORE, of course, fought all of this and then chose not to respond to our complaint investigation. All we wanted was to return the sub-quality product.

A year later we are still in dispute with the CARPET & RUG SUPERSTORE and have recently spent a morning with the local magistrate as they are suing us for payment (approx $2400) for the sub-quality merchandise.

It is a sad day in Rock Hill or anywhere when there is a merchant who cares only about his profit/commission. Dont we, the consumer/customer and neighbor to these folks, warrant fair and reasonable treatment?

We will not be visiting the CARPET & RUG SUPERSTORE location again until they go away and a consumer/neighbor friendly group moves in. Though you might want to watch for some form of picketing/protesting outside the store.

If there are others who have had similar experiences with the CARPET & RUG SUPERSTORE or others, we would very much like to hear from you.

Oh, by the way, during this ongoing nightmare, weve had our floor ceramic tiled for comparable cost. The approximate 650 square feet of Speedy Plus laminate flooring remains stored in our home until we figure out what to do with it (7 opened boxes, 27 un-opened boxes; 20 pcs laminate per box).

And, after considerable time searching we found out who the manufacturer of the Speedy Plus laminate flooring is - Wiltex AG - Like this German manufacturer is going to do anything for us.
