I donated an RV to this organization and after 6 months, they have not made any donation to the charity I chose.  They keep saying they will be selling the vehicle soon but now I can not get any response from them.

Cars 4 Causes says "Know Your Facts!"

AUTHOR: Patti - ()

POSTED: Thursday, December 19, 2013

Steve McKibbon, the donor of the RV referenced in Rip-Off report # 1053319, claimed that on May 23, 2013 that “after 6 month” [Cars 4 Causes] had not made any donation to the charity [he] chose.”

Mr. McKibbon donated the RV to Cars 4 Causes on  March 4rd, 2013 and therefore could not possibly know what happened 6 month after the donation date as that would post date the Rip-off Report claim by 4 months.

In fact, when our executive directed called Mr. McKibbon on November 26, 2013 to have a conversation regarding this complaints he said “….well, that was the information I had at the time.” And then abruptly disconnected the call.

We dispute his claim as false and inaccurate based on the following facts:

  1. March 4, 2013 - The vehicle was donated to Cars 4 Causes.
  2. March 6, 2013 - The vehicle was picked up in Murrayville, Georgia.
  3. March 7, 2013 through April 24, 2013 - The vehicle was offered several times at one of our auction houses nearest the vehicle pick up address throughout the month of  March and April.  Cars 4 Causes wasn’t happy with the offers presented at the local auction house  and decided to ship the vehicle to California to obtain a greater sales price.  A greater sales price means a larger tax deduction for Mr. McKibbon and more net proceeds for Mr. McKibbons chosen charity.
  4. April 25, 2013 - The vehicle was transferred to California.
  5. May 8, 2013 - The vehicle was sold to a private party through Cars 4 Causes’ retail sales lot in California.
  6. May 23, 2013 – Mr. McKibbon posted his false and inaccurate claim on Rip-Off Report.
  7. June 14, 2013 - A check (no. 52915) was sent to Mr. McKibbon’s chosen charity.
  8. July 1, 2013 - The check to Mr. McKibbons chosen charity cleared the bank .

The total duration of this donation from initial donation to check clearing the donors chosen charity.s bank was less than 4 months.

While we (and Mr. McKibbon’s chosen charity) greatly appreciate the generous donation, we are baffled as to why Mr. McKibbon would post such a false and negative report regarding this transaction.  We have been unable to have a lengthy conversation with him to understand the nature of his discontent.

We encourage the readers to conduct their own investigation by contacting Mr. McKibbon directly at 1-770.865.1256 or by email at stevemckibbon@gmail.com

As always, readers are welcome to contact Cars 4 Causes at 1-800-766-2273 or by email at admin@cars4causes.net

Cars 4 Causes did eventually resolve my problem after several emailed complaints and agreed to may payment immediately of the funds due to the charity.
