Wow, where do I begin!? First, I walk in alone, female;wrong choice, but there was no choice. I took the least expensive car on the lot.Two months later, the whole transmission fails, and I call them. tehy can help me fix it, but for a price. I have to pay nearly 600. on top of my bill just to fix the car they sold me broken in the first place. I have gone into the shop and felt very sexually harrassed a number of times, by managament and maintenance, both. I stopped going in to pay my bills. I would have friends or family do it, or use the drop box.

Anyway, I began to pay 2 seperate bills, now. A shop bill for the repairs they "helped" me with. And my loan bill. I was told 25.00 bi-wkly for my repairs and 100.00 biwkly for the loan. Towards the end of my load, I am at 132.00 owing on my loan, with interest, of course.
I sent them a check for that exact amount and wrote anote to apply it to my loan to finish it off. My shop bill had no interest, so I could keep paying as I was. What do they do? Send me a receipt telling me that they took it upon themselves to put my 132. againt my shop bill.

And, I was left still owing 132. with interest. These people have harrassed me, my friends, my family, ex boyfriend, anyone they can to get this money from me after using my money unauthorized and ripping me off! They are the trashiest company I have ever come in contact with. They manipulated me and ripped me off from day 1. I am at a loss of what to do next, but they want this 132. still and the balance of my shop bill, which is 112. I really dont want to give it to them-just on principal...

I have talked to quite a few people ripped off by Carzone. I would highly recomment driving by without taking a glance. These people will take your money and you'll be left wondering what happened and how you were so fooled.

This is getting ugly ..Everytime I spoke to these people, I got the run around about everything and sarcastic remarks

AUTHOR: Stephanie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, September 05, 2004

Based on a lot of information here, this man has had no knowledge of me. Now, he suddenly knows a lot. I am not sure of a lot of the transactions that he is speaking of, but I am sure they keep WONDERFUL records.

I am so done with even rebuttling with this company because they will say anything to try to manipulate anyone. I had one bounced check, yes, for $25.00 as stated. That was obviously an error on my part. But, I would have never had that issue had they put my money in my account as directed. I do not lie. I am not a fake person.

I wanted to pay my car off, obviously, before paying off a shop bill that accrued no interest, who wouldn't? its is illegal for a company to use a customers money for anything other that its implied intent, which i put in writing.

The only time collection calls were made to me was AFTER I had to replace this transmission, which they did replace and DIDnt charge me labor for only because I had my boyfriend call and give them hell for TRYING to charge me for it.

Everytime he called, he got resolutions. Everytime I spoke to these people, I got the run around about everything and sarcastic remarks from their "collector/receptionist/whatever... I am done this rebuttle argument. They can say all they want...Stick to their "honorable guns". I will do the same.

People will make their own decision on buying from Carzone or not. They may have a good experience. They may not...My luck didnt go so well. Thats all I can say. Good Luck to anyone who goes there. Have a good day! :)

FACT: Stephanie is NOT TELLING THE TRUTH!!!

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, September 05, 2004

After doing some research, talking to the collector, and reviewing files I have personally found who this "Stephanie" from Dover is and pulled her records to state the following facts:

1)The customer stated "Two months later, the whole transmission fails..."

FACT: Stephanie purchased her vehicle April 10, 2003, the vehicle was repaired October 6, 2003! That's over 5 months! Not 2 months as she stated. The vehicle came with a 3 mo/ 3000 mile warranty. The repair was technically NOT covered due to the fact that the transmission failed after the warranty term had expired!

FACT: The repairs were done for Stephanie as a good will gesture. We spent exactly $649.00 in parts alone and did not charge her for the labor which would have been in excess of $650.00 at a typical shop rate.

FACT: We charged her for less than 50% of the total cost of the repair and because Stephanie did not have the money to pay for the repair we offered her a payment plan of $0 upfront and just $25 every two weeks until the $600 is paid so Stephanie could have her car back to get to work.

2) Stephanie stated we sold her a "non-working" vehicle.

FACT: Stephanie test drove the car, liked the way it ran and decided to purchase the vehicle with no pressure from the sales person. Since we finance many of our own cars we don't want to talk anyone into signing a contract. For that reason my sales people are not paid a commission until the customer pays off the loan!

FACT: The customer signed a "Disclaimer" that states "We (Car Zone) have offered you the option of having this vehicle independently inspected by someone knowledgeable of used vehicles." This form is my way of making sure the sales people are allowing the customer time to get the car checked by someone else.

FACT: The customer drove the car almost 6 months before having a problem with it!!! Her statement of only 2 months is incorrect.

Stephanie stated "I began to pay 2 seperate bills" and "My shop bill had no interest so I could keep paying as I was."

FACT: She started paying that's true. We didn't charge her interest on the repairs we "helped" her with, that's true. She started missing payments on 1/5/04 then another 2/20/04 and again with no payments on the shop for the entire month of April and May putting the shop bill in default.

FACT: We deferred payments on her account so she could get caught up on the shop bill she was over 60 days past due on!

FACT: July 12, 2004 we received a check for $25 (check #106 which was returned for insufficient funds. Our records show the collector made repeated phone calls to recover the "bounced check" August 1, 2004 she tried to pay by check again! Copies of these checks are on file. This time for $75 check #110. We obviously did not accept it and called to explain why. She did not make good on the first check until September 2, 2004 receipt #6816 almost 2 months later.

Stephanie sent a note telling us how to apply the funds as she stated. She wanted to pay the account off and get her title.

FACT: Since we were unable to speak to Stephanie by phone to explain again the fact that she was 2 months past due on the shop bill and we had deferred the account so she could get it caught up. We had to apply the money as agreed originally! She knew the shop bill was past due and she decided she just didn't want to pay it!

FACT: We did apply her funds to the car shop account because that was the original agreement! The balance could not be paid off until the shop was paid...SHE KNEW THAT! If she wasn't clear she should have answered the phone!!!

Stephanie said "why don't they stick to their guns". She implied that if we are right why did we offer a settlement?

FACT: This account was supposed to be paid in full by June 21, 2004 according to the contract. It is September! My collector costs money and at this point her time is costing more than the money Stephanie owes! We know we are right but unfortunately that's business...It's called settling an account and charging off the balance. That does not mean the account is paid satisfactorily!!!

Stephanie also claims that she knows several people who have gone to the better business bureau with complaints.

FACT: I am personally notified of any actions taken with the Better Business Bureau. Anyone can call the BBB to find out Stephanie is NOT TELLING THE TRUTH AGAIN!!! There are "No unresolved complaints on file"... I called myself to get the facts for this response!

I am sorry Stephanie does not wish to ever buy another car from us. Based on our collection experience with Stephanie, my collector is happy to hear that! We honor our warranties, we help our customers, we sell good vehicles, and YES...WE COLLECT OUR MONEY!

#2 REBUTTAL Individual responds

Obviously, this company will say anything!!

AUTHOR: Stephanie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 04, 2004

I have known various people who have taken this company to the Better Business Bureau in effort to reclaim money or give their vehicles back. True, this company is in the business of working with people with "not the best of credit."Hence the fact that they usually are working with people who are not the best at money management or understanding when they are being manipulated until the worst has come. I don't know of any RELIABLE vehicle just purchased that has needed a whole transmission replacement...in two months, nor do I know anyone that can drive a vehicle 7 THOUSAND miles in two months; surely not me. I only drove the car from my house to the grocery store( which was in walking distance, I might add.) The money was totally available to this company in payments, until I felt like I was being so screwed that I just stopped being as timely. I would send the bare minimum payment. I would even put notes on my checks or enclosed papers telling them which account the money should go into, which was my loan balance. They took MY money and put it into a shop bill that accrued NO interest to stop me from paying off my full balance. I owed 132. I sent a check for that amount. they sent me an ote back telling me that they put it into my shop bill because they hadnt in a while! Whos fault is that! they were sent the money! AT this point, I stopped even taking calls or writing. I had a man do all of the work for me because of how manipulative these people are. I didnt even want to discuss anything alone. As for having a good reputation: word on the street, which is traveled very often, isn't that this company is very reliable, reputable OR easy to deal with. But, that's just the customers opinion. And, needlessy to say, the costomer matters not much to this company. Collection calls were in order, yes, that is not an argument. The calls were only in order because who wants to pay for something that doesnt even work 95% of the time? And, to say they dont know who I am, is completely ludicrous.

They know me, my family and my ex boyfriend by name...That is a joke to me. They even offered for me to pay $100.00 to settle this dispute, when I owed twice as much, just to get this whole thing over with. Now, if they were right, dont you think they would be hellbent to stick to their guns, as "reputable" as they are...? I have already sent the whole balance to these people. I have paid my dues fully. But, I am sure they will find another way to be the sarcastic, unevolved comany they are by doing yet another underhanded trick. I just want these people out of my life, as I am sure they want me out of theirs...It has been hell since I walked into that dealer!

We Have A Good Reputation!

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 03, 2004

Unfortunately, neither I or any employee recognizes this customer situation based on a first name shown. Every customer male or female is treated the same. Every customer is given an opportunity to have the vehicle inspected by a shop of their choice prior to purchasing a car from us. We do not sell "non working vehicles"! I don't think anyone would buy one that didn't work?! She stated 2 months later the transmission went but no mention of how many miles she drove the car which is more of a factor than time of ownership...was it 2000 miles or 7000 miles? If we helped with the repair or replacement of her transmission and the total was $1200 then her share would be $600 according to our limited warranty we give on every vehicle on the drivetrain covering 50% of the parts and labor. I don't know the specific details on this customer but I assume this was the situation. She apparently didn't have the $600 so she agreed to make payments of $25 bi-weekly for the repairs. If she paid as she was supposed to based on only having the car for 2 months the shop bill would have been paid off long before the car would be. She also stated "these people have harrassed me, my family, ex boyfriend, anyone they could talk..." It seems that this customer is upset because numerous collection calls were being made to her home. Typically, if a customer refuses to return our calls the collector will start calling references that were given by the customer on their loan application. This is an attempt to locate a customer that has "skipped" or is hiding from us. We are in the business of financing customers that can not get their own financing due to lack of credit or past credit problems. A small percentage of these customers still default on their financial obligations and can not be reasoned with. The majority of our customers are very happy with their vehicles and the opportunity to establish or re-establish a good credit rating. I realize that no business can survive without a good reputation. We have been in business over 7 years and have grown tremendously due to repeat customers and referral business. We have always treated our customers fairly and with respect. I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THIS CUSTOMER!
