This is a complete scam these people are criminals.   Do not engage them at all.  Do not talk to them on the phone. Do not email them.  If they have personal information like your social security number or bank account info put fraud alerts on 3 credit reports and close any bank account you think they might have.   Also tell your employer you are a victim of a crime and that anyone who calls about this is a criminal.
