During the week of 12/14/09 I called in to have 100 gallons of heating oil delivered to my home in Minot. I spoke with a woman of whom I did not make note of her name. She quoted me a price of $2.279 to be delivered on 12/23/09. I arrived home to find that no oil had been delivered. I called your Lewiston office about the issue. I received a return call from Jim Hubbard stating that no delivery ticket had been printed form my delivery. He told me that I couldn't possibly have been quoted the above price. He told me that he could have a delivery made on 12/24/09 for $2.329. I can't say that I'm very pleased about this situation. Granted the difference is only $6.00 for the 100 gallons, but it's the principle that matters. I should not have to pay a penalty for a Cash Energy employee's error.

I don't really want to make a mountain out of a mole hill over $6.00, but this whole situation irritates me. FACTS: I ordered oil. I was quoted a price of $2.279. I expected delivery on Wed. Dec. 23rd. at a quoted price. The oil was not delivered. I called to report the issue. I was told that a delivery ticket was not printed for me and that oil was not selling for $2.279 in the Lewiston area. I was told that 100 gallons would be delivered to me on Thu. Dec. 24th for a price of $2.329. This is not the first time that I have ordered from Cash Energy. Forget about the 6 bucks! I haven't even heard anyone from Cash Energy apologize for their error! Not to mention your initial brusque response. Is that how you describe "top-notch customer service"?

The owner, Les Thomas, is rude and couldn't care less if I gave him my business or not. As a matter of fact, he told me that Cash energy would no longer deliver heating oil to my home!

Cash Energy complaint from Minot

AUTHOR: also from Minot - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 06, 2011

Dear Sirs,

Regarding your complaint of Cash Energy.

First of all I would like to express my empathy and I understand your frustration. Obviously there was a person working for Cash Energy whom was very un-interested in doing her job. We run into this situation all the time.

I have to do business with a "certain" Post Office in a "certain" town (NOT Minot!) and the service there is terrible. They deliver mail to the wrong boxes on a regular basis. One little boy who uses his Christmas money one year to buy something through the mail never recieved his item. The Post ladies argued that it had been delivered. Apparently they did deliver it; and as usual, to the WRONG box!

I also have had struggles with my Mortgage Company. They took me off their automatic pay (where they take money out of my account each month) when I applied for a loan modification. Not only did they say I don't qualify (never been late on a payment; although my income is much lower than it was when I originally applied for the loan and my income ratio Does meet the standard!!) but they stopped the auto pay on me!!! I have made 5 phone contacts with them trying to get them to take my money!! Ha ha!! Not only can I not understand the people who answer the phone (not from this Country) but I can't get them to do it for crying out loud! I have had this mortgage for 8 years and it has only been three months since I have had to pay the old fashioned way (by check)!!

Basically what I am trying to express to you is that sometimes a company doesn't know who they are hiring. Potential employees put on a good act when they are looking for a job. I am quite sure that the owner just doesn't think he hired someone who is not interested in doing her job correctly. In this situation the only thing you can do is be happy that you didn't get oil delivered for a higher cost than you were expecting (you lost NO money), try to be understanding of the company and the hiring process and simply file a complaint with them about their employee so that they can be "on the look out" for what is going wrong. You may be able to help them to re-train their employee or to fire her if she is unwilling to change her ways.

Unfortunately we consumers have to "eat crow" once in a while. On the service side of things I totally understand how difficult it is to make everyone happy while trying to make a living. Small business people are not getting rich; trust me!! The Gov and Insurance Companies make sure of that!!

Please give them another chance. They have delivered to me 3 times and I have never had issues with them. I typically use someone from Minot as I like to keep business in the area but was dating someone who worked for them at the time (and he was a terrible employee; he was day-dreaming once and didn't notice a tank was full and spilled oil all over the ground. That was a huge cost for Cash to clean up; dep got involved and everything).

I have empathy for both sides because I have been on both sides. Please try to be understanding.

Sincerely,
Someone who cares
