WANNA BE GIFTERS BEWARE!! Cash Gift Generator (CGG) is a bogus gifting program where the primary beneficiary is Steven Costabile. Yes, I know, I should have known better.  My money is gone and I have written it off but this scammer has to be stopped as is taking money from several unsuspecting  people each week.  Don't fall for his laid back casual approach and his boldface lies as this guy is a real con artist and he is good at it.

First, he claims he has been signing up 3000-4000 members weekly in CGG but there are only 230 CGG websites in his system.  This applies to both his www.cashgiftgenerator.com marketing sites and his www.thisisagift.com sign-up sites.  95% of the thisisagift sites were his direct signups.

On his website he entices people to join by offering a 5-day guarantee.  This is for a $35 gift.  He promises two $5 gifts within 5 days or your money back.  He runs this as a 5 level program to show you his advertising works.  ($35 is paid to him, he keeps $10 and five dollars is paid to each of 5 different people).  When a person gets two $5 gifts, he is done, if not, he may ask for a refund or upgrade to other levels.  They can also ask for a refund.  I think he has probably honored (I hate to use this word with him) some of these refund requests but I have  heard of others who didn't get their money back.  The $35 option is Option 1 and there are still Options 2,3,& 4.

He also offers the Option 2-$500, Option 3-$1500 and Option 4-$3500 levels.  A portion of these gifts will go to the person who shared CGG with you and a portion to the person who shared it with them (very similar to the People's Program in this respect).  To entice one to join at the higher levels, he promises ad co-op shares in his marketing campaign.  Enter at $500 and receive one co-op share for one month free, at $1500 receive two and at $3500 receive three.  If you don't join, then he will periodically email you and offer double shares in the ad co-op.  I came in at the $1500 level so I could get the double shares; it was a great enticement!  After the fact, I now realize there were probably never any free co-ops.

Now, if you want to advertise on your own, the con man offers to set up your own Pay Per Click (PPC) campaign with keywords that will pull like crazy.  Another enticement that sounds good to someone who wants to hit an opportunity hard and heavy, and knows little about how to setup PPC or get traffic to a website.  I had him do this for me and ended up spending $700 with no sign-ups.  I just find it hard to believe that I could have six co-op shares (over a 3-month period) and spend $700 on PPC and not get a sign-up if the program was really generating 3000-4000 sign-ups a month.  Of course, now I know that is a BOLD FACE LIE as there are only 230 (as of this posting) active websites in the program.

A couple other enticements there are no admin fees ever, two free websites and he closes all your prospects for you.  This is what makes the scam work.  All the prospects you generate from your advertising goes directly to him so he can close them for you.  This gives him all the control.

He also changed the sign-up link on emails to my prospects from my sin-up page to his own.  I caught him red-handed on this.  Even after I told him about this, he was still bold enough not to change it back to my link.  The scammer is not only a bold face liar and con man, but also a THIEF.

When I told him I felt he was scamming me, he stalled by offering his help and gave me three more months of the BOGUS advertising co-op shares.  He had this to say when I threatened him by saying I would post his scam on the internet.  He basically laughed in my face.  Read his response:

"I worked hard to get where I am at and that does not include

frauding people or scamming anyone, just good ole plain hard

work and creating systems to back up my work.

But whenever someone isn't successful they get all crazy, talking about

shutting down the program and that makes them happy to talk about

truth is I have a law firm on retainer and thick skin for crazy people who

think they can take down any company when they can't even build up

one of there own. - you don't like that I just wrote that and now you really

want to see me get shut down, but truth is I wont, cgg.com wont and you

will just end up wasting a bunch of your time on hold or searching through

Google for more scam reporter sites or whatever and at the end of the day

you gained nothing, you will feel empty and that's just an unhealthy state

of mind for anyone to be in."

He continues to say "but all the negative smear campaigns, blog posts, you tube videos or whatever else you think is an original idea to strike back at me and cgg.com it will all be

futile and you will just not like the person you have become.

and actually the blog posts, or anything else that goes live online

will actually serve as free advertising for cgg.com - and we will gain

new community members from it, that's just how the media is."

Quite an arrogant pig, isn't he?   Well, I'm sure he is right about getting more traffic from this report, as some will want to see how I fell for all of this.  I'm warning you that he has very good sales copy/videos on his website and is very convincing with his laid back down to earth approach.  Don't fall for all his lies and fake testimonials or you'll be back here yourself adding to this report.

If you have already fell victim for this scam as I did, then please post below and tell your story.  If we can't shut this scammer down, at least we can ward off potential prospects who are thinking about joining a gifting program.

The Con Continues!

AUTHOR: BeenHad - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, May 17, 2010

Steven Costabile, owner of Cash Gift Generator, continues his scam and rip-off of unknowing victims.  It's been a while since I posted anything on this con man so yesterday, I decided to check and see if he was still up to no good.  Sure enough, the con continues.  I went to a certain person's Cash Gift Generator site and opted in.  When I received a confirmation link by email, I clicked on it and was redirected to Steven Costabile's site, not the person's site I opted in to.  If I had joined this program, Mr. Costabile would have received the gift, not the person whose page I had originally went to.  This proves that this con man is still stealing gifts from unsuspecting members.
This is really bad for those who advertise on their own as any lead they receive from their adwords campaign will eventually be redirected to Mr. Costabile's sign-up page.  I blew over $700 before I found this out and there have been countless others who have spent this much and more only to find out the same.  Please beware and don't believe this scam artist when he tells you of all the help and support he gives his members.  He's nothing but a liar and he will rip you off!!

Program details changed again

AUTHOR: BeenHad - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 30, 2009

It appears that Mr. Costabile has changed the design of his website one more time.  He apparently has done away with the $35 feeder program and went to just a straight three level ($500, $1500 & $3500) program, which was the back-end of the original program.

Nothing has really changed though as he still uses the enticement of no fees, free websites, closing sales and free advertising to get people to sign up.  Wanna be gifters beware of this con man as he will steal the leads generated with your money by Adword advertising!

So, my report is blatantly false and uninformed, REALLY?

AUTHOR: BeenHad - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 03, 2009
It's funny that the owner failed to mention that there are many other dissatisfied people in his program besides just myself. I have emails from 15-20 other people who have stories very similar to my own and I was only able to contact a limited number of the 230 people I found in his system.  People who gifted him because they were told that his ad co-op was returning an average of one gift per co-op share per month.  People who were told that the adword campaigns he set up for them would bring them a $5 to $1 return on their advertising.  The one thing we all have in common is that none of us received a gift from his ad co-op or our paid advertising campaign, so yes, we are all a little unhappy!

People can view some comments of other CGG members by clicking the blog tab at
www.stevencostabilecrook.weebly.com.  There is also another post on this site, search for Cash Gift Generator or Steven Costabile.

This just in!  Steven Costabile has changed his marketing approach for generating leads for Cash Gift Generator.  Now when a prospect signs up on his capture pages, they are taken to a page that explains his $35 money back guarantee option with no mention of the $500, $1500 or $3500 options.  One must join Option 1 before he even finds out about options 2, 3 or 4.  He changed the guarantee to 6 days (formerly 5) and the guaranteed $5 sign-ups to 4 (formerly 2).  What he has done is made Option 1 a feeder program for Options 2, 3 & 4.   In other words, one cannot now join the higher monetary options without joining the $35 option first.  With this lower entry level, the guaranteed sign-ups and money back guarantee, he makes it sound risk free and will likely attract more sign-ups.  Once he delivers the 4 sign-ups, he will hit you up with the enticement of the free co-op shares if you upgrade to the $500, $1500 or $3500 options.

Think about this, if you were out to scam people, would you give someone $35 out of your own pocket to get $500, $1500 or $3500?  The point is, how would you know that any money you received from him on this program came from new people who joined behind you or came from Mr Costabile himself?  Remember, he controls all the sign-ups and you see or talk to no one!

It's no coincidence that Mr Costabile has changed his marketing method to this new system after I filed my report.  It changes the entire outward appearance of the program and makes it more likely that someone would join with him.  Gee whiz, it's only $35 and there's a money back guarantee, what have you got to lose?  BEWARE!  He is a smooth talker and can be very convincing.  This new system also prevents me from tracking his new sign-ups and that is the real reason behind this new marketing twist.  It was this flaw in the original system that allowed me to expose his program as a scam.

Hi,

I too have been scammed by him! I joined cause I couldn't believe that someone elese was going to take all the calls for me!!! That's unheard of. Anyhow, I guess I wanted to believe it. But I knew for quite some time that he was full of sh**! Plus when I did join, I though I would at least get one person (since their advertising strategy with google was suppose to be so great!)

He assured me of it. But, I got nothing. Of course I was afraid to give any more money to him cause the advertising didn't work the first time!

I take it as a lost....but will be a lot smarter next time. I should have just stayed put with the people's program!!!! I guess I just have to learn to actually get comfortable talking with people. (that for me is always the hard part..) But it's a good program.

Thanks for your email. If I can help you any further, let me know

Renee

I sent $500 to him along with $300 for additional advertising.  It's been six months and I have not received a dime!  Most of my emails and phone calls were completely ignored.  Some of the  emails were returned by the sarcastic, very unprofessional, Michelle Wagner.  There is no back office and it is a complete scam.  It's sad that all of us innocent hard working people were victimized by his greed.  Please continue to fight this! He should be stopped

Sorry to respond so late. Just filled in long FBI complaint form ( an hour's work) -and before I could send it I must have touched a key and - it disappeared. INFURIATING! Maybe SC has hidden powers to interrupt as well as bilking unsuspecting punters.

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for your inquiry.
It would be fair to say this guy is nothing but a thief. I knew I was taken once I sent my $500.00 payment to him and found out that the back office he promised was non existent, he never personally answered my calls, and all the promises on the sale page turned out to be just that. He sounded so convincing that I took the chance on my last dollar. Indeed, I feel sorry for those who felt compelled to send more in hope of a greater reward. He should be stopped.!!  Thanks again.  Al

Hello Barbra,

I sent $500 and paid about $500 in advertising and I did not receive one gift. Someone did get back to me when I questioned about
the advertising there suppose to do for free and they told me it takes time. I paid in April still nothing. That would be a blessing to get my money back. How did you get my info? Any way I hope this help your investigation.

I gifted him $500.00. His free two month advertising and my own goggle advertising of over $200.00 has not yet produced a gift for me. I am trying to get at least one more free month of advertising from him to get my money back.

Thanks,
Tim

Correction to 1st post

AUTHOR: BeenHad - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, November 08, 2009

I'd like to make a correction to the post I made on 11-17-09.  I stated that CGG claimed to be signing up 3000-4000 new people weekly.  I should have stated "3000-4000 new people monthly".  My apologies for the error.
