For the second time I have been contacted by Eastern Indian sounding individuals who have my SSN, my banking information, my references threatening to have me put in jail if I did not pay them for an "internet payday advance" loan I never took out. The first time they threatened to have 2 police officers arrest me the next morning. I found out through legal counsel that you cannot be put in jail for owing money unless you are ordered to pay by a judge. The second time a similar sounding man phoned and said if I did not call him back, he would pray for what would happen to my children. I don't have any. These people hacked into a database that is known by many names, but I have bought jewelery from Cash America who is owned by Cash Net. That is how they got my information...and probably yours if this happens to you. I was so frightened about going to jail over something I didn't owe. Just remember, if a judge didn't order you to pay it, you can't go to jail over it.
