Response to "Interest Ripoff"

AUTHOR: Wendy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 26, 2006

In June 2006 I received a loan from CashCall. Like yourself, I only needed about $1500-2000, but their minimum loan is $2600.

The man I talked to over the phone was extremely friendly and helpful and was explicit in describing the terms of this loan, reiterating many times that this is a high-interest loan, and that I should make every effort to pay it off early. He explained that though the loan was only $2600, I would end up paying almost $9000 over 3 years if I chose to pay the minimum amount each month.

This is frustrating at times, but I was aware of what I got myself into, and I have not had any problems with their customer service. Judging from the rest of these comments, I am obviously one of the lucky ones.

I am planning to pay off my loan when I get my tax return next year, and hopefully I will not need to borrow money at such a high interest rate ever again!

You were not mislead

I am a Realtor and some months I am in desperate need of cash. I have had 4 loans over the past 2 years with Cash Call. They have never mislead me. In fact, everytime I apply for a new loan, the loan agent tells me to pay this loan off early, not to keep it long term.

You do not owe them $9,000 dollars, that number simply represents what you would pay back if you only made the minimum payment and kept it for over 4 years. You can pay it off early without any penalty, which is what I have done everytime.

Also, they don't hide that $9,000 number, it is in big numbers on the loan document that you sign!!! Why are you misleading people ????
