Just to make this long story as succinct as possible, let me tell you the major points:

On May 6th, 2009 I accidentally dropped and damaged my Casio EX-V7 camera, which I owned for over two years.
I sent it into to the Casio Repair Center to diagnose the problem and cost it out as their products can only be repaired by Casio.
Due to the cost of repair and age of the camera, I opted to upgrade to a refurbished EX-Z100 camera thinking it would be a better deal.
When I received the EX-Z100, it stopped working after 4 hours of being in my possession.
I sent the camera back to the Repair Center requesting a refund for $132.50 that I spent on the upgrade because I would not accept nor keep defective merchandise.
I got a confirmation of the Repair Center receiving the camera around June 1st, 2009 and I just received the repaired refurbished camera TODAY August 7th, 2009.

I find it unacceptable that not only will Casio not offer a refund for receiving a defective refurbished digital camera, but that it takes so long in order to get any kind of repair on damaged goods.

It it fruitless to call the Casio America Repair Center because they will give you the runaround and constantly tell you that your case is on the desk of a director who would resolve the issue. Which apparently will never actually transpire. They will just wait it out for months and then send you the damaged goods after they've "repaired it."

I am very frustrated and disappointed with their repair process and the staff at the Repair Center. And because of the treatment (or lack thereof) I have received, I will not be a future consumer of Casio digital cameras. Nor can I feel justified in recommending any of their products, and especially their customer support, to the people I know. So that is why I now feel compelled to file a report here.

So do yourself a favor and NEVER BUY Casio digital cameras.

What's The Problem?

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 25, 2009

So they didn't refund your money but they fixed the refurbished camera which you bought. I'm sure that they are sorry it didn't work but they fixed it -two months is a long time to wait I agree - but they didn't keep the camera and not refund the money. You sent it back and they fixed it. Sounds like they did what they were supposed to do. I don't see the problem.
