Absolute worst, dishonest consignment shop ever. Nightmare owner, Sandra Woolley is rude and swore multiple times in front of my young daughter. When I called her out on her unproffesional behavior, she yelled "It's my F$%#ing store and I can do what I F$%&ing  want!"  Nice huh?  She has no respect for customers, and throws temper tantrums if you even call her out and ask her to honor her own written policy.

Back in August 2013, I dropped off a few brand new with tags outfits.  I used to have an online clothing store but got too busy with my regular "day" job to continue selling.  When I saw that Cassandra's closet was only around the corner I decided to take a few items over and see how well they sold.  At the time, the customer service seemed friendly enough so a couple of weeks later I brought and even larger lot of clothing in to consign.  Cassandra's closet's policy is that you have 6 months from the time your clothing sells to pick up your check and you're only allowed to come in on the 20th of each month.  Ok, quirky rules but I get it... they only want to write checks out once a month.  I gave it two months for clothes to sell and then went in and collected a check for some of the clothing that sold the previous months. I again visited in November and was told that the clothing sold via layaway still wasn't final and I would get my money once it was.  I'm a pretty patient person and I didn't really need the money right away so no biggie... I'll give it a few more months and I'll still be within the their 6 month window for requesting payment.

Fast forward to March 20th, 2014.  I figured it had been enough time for the layaway sales to be final.  I went into their store with my 12 year old daughter accompaning me and asked for my check.  The lady at working the cash register said that they couldn't give me a check because it had been longer than 6 months.  I asked to speak to the owner.  She came stomping out of the back room and told me that they go off of the date a deposit is but down on a layaway, not the date of actual sale.  This is complete bull and against the law. The legal defenition of a "sale" is when a transfer of goods takes place.  Anyway, I asked to see their "contract" and the sales records of my clothing.  She refused and told me to leave or she will call the police.  Knowing that I hadn't done anything wrong, I told her to go ahead and call the police and I will be waiting outside for them.  I talked to the police officer and he too thought it was pretty pathetic that she would waste taxpayer $ over a civil dispute.  Hopefully no real emergencies occured while she was busy wasting this officer's time.

Bottomline, there are so many honest merchants out there that deserve business way more than dishonest Cassandra's closet.  I kick myself for not looking up the other online reviews of Cassandra's Closet.  The Owner apparently is notorious for treating customers horribly when it comes time to pay them or return clothing that didn't sale.  Do youreself a favor and don't consign clothing with Cassandra's unless you don't care if you recieve any payment.  You are way better off just donating the clothing to charity yourself or better yet, find a more reputable and honest consigment shop.

The Truth of the Matter/Cassandras Closet

AUTHOR: Sandi Woolley - ()

POSTED: Saturday, April 26, 2014

I own Cassandra's Closet.  For the past 8 years, our mission has been to strive for excellence, integrity and customer satisfaction.  We believe that a successful relationship is one where our clients and staff are both satisfied with the entire consignment and sales experience.

On the rare occasion that we fall short, we do our best to make it right for our clients.  Recently, there was an unfortunate encounter with a consignor due to a series of miscommunications and follow through on our part.  We fell short of her expectations and ours.  Typically, these are easily resolved without incident.  In this case, our client was not seeking a simple resolution but chose to escalate the situation to the extreme whereas I had to call the police when she refused to leave the premises.  I'm saddened by this incident but it's never okay to verbally abuse my staff or me.

I have already used this situation to update training and procedures for me and my staff to improve internal communication and processes so this type of issue can be avoided in the future.

The good news is that I was able to successfully settle the matter with the consignor's husband the next day.

I treaure our clients and will continue the excellence we have presented for the past 8 years.  Thank you for your continued support.  We look forward to seeing you im the near future.
