I recently heard about this company 123nc.com, and decided to give them a shot because I needed a copy of my background check. I was layed off of my job and began to send out resumes for employment. After hearing about 123nc.com I figured it was in my best interest to check my background to make sure I could see what employers would see, and make sure that no surprises were there. Of course, all was good, just a couple of expired registration tickets. However, what was supposed to be a $15.00 bill turned out to be $75.00. These people charged me EACH TIME I CLICKED THE MOUSE ON THEIR WEBSITE...........
I know we aren't suppose to put text in bold, but people need to know this is a true SCAM.
I have a filed a complaint with the BBB against Castle Branch Inc., (Owners of 123nc.com)in Wilmington, NC and will continue to file other judgements against them until they return my money. I am a fulltime unemployed student, and I think it is a complete disgrace that companies like this are taking advantage of our hard working citizens, especially with economic times being as difficult as they are right now. I wonder if these guys are part of the Wall Street group that we're having to bail out? Needless to say, there's no phone number to get in contact with these people. So, take heed. This is a RIPOFF!!! But I'm fighting back....

Well as of today, 10/15/2008/, I have my refund. After going round for round with Castle Branch Inc., they finally agreed to give me back my money. They initially refused a refund but after contacting some consumer services and their local court house officials there in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, I finally got my refund.
I hope everyone knows that you can get a copy of your FULL criminal background check from your local courthouse for around $3.00 to $15.00. Some states may charge a little more but not much more. In fact, in South Carolina they told me that they only charge $3.00 for a criminal background check and they were very interested when I told them there was a company there RIPPING PEOPLE OFF by charging them $75.00 or more. DON'T GET CAUGHT IN THIS SCAM. Go to your local courthouse for your background checks.
